Awesome place
Serene and comfortable.
My only problem is their short on stuff or the waiter have problem getting ur order done on time.
Had to wait 30 minutes for a tequila shot!
Went to Buka one evening. Place is nice, clean, friendly staff
While there, they had some mood music playing, it was upbeat at times. At one point the music changed and they began to play music with questionable lyrics (reggae and hip hop). There was a child dining at the time and we didn't find it appropriate to play songs like that.
We asked for the manager but was told he had stepped out.
Please Buka, be mindful of your guest in the future regarding your music selections.
Great environment, cool background music, friendly customer service. Great place to hold small groups gatherings. Food is also delicious.
Nice setting, a mixture of chic and quaintness, and a serene environment, ever though it overlooks a road. Not loud with great lighting. The people are nice and you're told upfront how long it'll take for the food to be ready. There's a variety of local African cuisines that one could try. The price is OK for the location. Osu is the high-cost center of Accra.
Utterly poor service. Sat for half an hour after ordering starters and the waiters didn’t have courtesy to come say anything to us. Spoke to the gentleman in charge who completely brushed me off
Don’t go over for service, good place nice vibe but service is non existent
Even when I got up to leave none of them came up to offer an apology of sort, just didn’t care
Great atmosphere, wonderful food. If you want local cuisine in a clean space and open air this is the place to go. Some waiters need to be more attentive though.😐
Wait times during lunch can be a little long and parking during said hours is terrible, even though they have the space. Excellent tasting food and lovely wait staff. I think the best experience would be outside of their peak activity periods.
One of my very regular and favourite haunts. Love the atmosphere. Love the food. Grear service. And the owner is simply the best!
Food was delicious: well prepared and fresh. They take their time preparing each dish but once served, you know it was worth the wait. Nice ambience and food customer experience all round.
Great food! The ambience is lovely as well. The only drawback is the time it takes for the food to arrive. I've spent an hour or more just waiting for food. The waiters aren't friendly or helpful either
The Nigerian food - Ebw and pounded yam, were great. I had a huge problem with their mode of hand washing and that's the only reason they're getting a 2 star. The environment, food, look and feel as well as the music were all still great though.
The food was great. The price was decent but might be a little much for some and I loved the atmosphere. Just had a problem with being charged for a 2 go box.
It’s an absolutely delightful place with very natural, authentic decor. Built with rich wood and bricks. The workers are polite and the service is quick (not more 15 minutes). Their cuisine is very African with fresh juices available (coconut, pineapple, orange). However there’s fries and chicken on the menu too. I’ll advise you sit upstairs for some natural breeze.
Had a dinner with some colleagues and friends and I must say I absolutely loved the place. The food was great and drinks were really great as well. The staff are very friendly, smart and effective. Their services was good and food doesn't take so long to get ready. Also, the location is perfect, near the popular Oxford street at Osu, Accra. The design and atmosphere was also lovely. I will recommend Bukka as a good place to enjoy both Ghanaian and Nigerian dishes and if you love spicy foods, You should by all means try the Goat pepper soup. It's a perfect location for small gatherings, parties and dinners.
Loved, loved the food. its well prepared local food that kept us going back for more. The ambiance is also good, open rooftop with fresh air and open kitchen plan.
I usually go there for local dishes, the meals I've had are usually quite tasty. They do good tilapia and I'm a fan of their okro soup, however the meat they put in is always too big and sometimes just fatty so I hardly ever finish mine. I think the price is good for what you get.. Comfortable clean environment and good food. However it tends to get pretty busy often so you'll wait a while for your food.
Been going to Buka for almost a decade for all my African delicacy requirements. I'm yet to be disappointed. Food and service always on point and management is constantly upgrading to keep place looking great.
This food and the restaurant is of a quality seen in the best eateries of the US or UK. I’m pleased that I made the visit. I can’t wait to come again.
Excellent restaurant for Ghanaian and Nigerian food. And at least one Ivorian dish on the menu. Great ambience and the best in Accra. A must-go and must-see restaurant!
The food was really good. That I can vouch for. Our waiter was not bad. The dishes we were not to sure about she took her time to explain it and what it had in it. It just took a pretty long time to get the bill sorted out and brought to us. Loved the ambiance. It was very relaxing. If you want local dishes this is the place to be!
Literally the best fried yam I have had in years. Buka is a well appointed, African meets Western Contemporary (in design) at least restaurant that was truly one of my most memorable experiences while in Ghana. I remember they had a particular gizzard Stew that was quite something to the taste. I'll go back in a heartbeat!
Lovely ambience. Cool local music. Great food. Always pay after you are done and not before. Some waiter shafted me by a small amount after I paid for the main meal and a drink they did not have. I ordered mango juice and he conveniently forgot about the drink I paid for and charged me extra plus tips. Looking confused but I knew what he was up to. So be very careful with payments.
Great local food in an outdoor setting. Get the grilled tilapia (whole fish) kelewele (spicy fried plantains)
I may have been there on a bad nightbut the customer service was awful. We had to keep calling the waiter, any waiter after waiting long periods to be served. Many of the things we wanted were not available on the menu and the food was mediocre. The only good thing I noted was the set-up and decor was nice.
I love their restaurant because it has this special African touch to structure. their food is good and trust me, you will leave with an unforgettable experience.
Upstairs in a treehouse kind of feel, Buka serves guinea fowl groundnut soup along with some Nigerian dishes and other traditional Ghana-made selections. It's an upscale place, and guests really love eating here. Service can be outstanding or you need a signal flare to get their attention.
Its okay by my assessment. My friends think its great. You judge. The food was just OK but the service was good. They have lots of Nigerian meals on the menu, so if you are looking for a taste of home, this is the place. You stand a better chance with lunch than dinner.
