  I have to say my 1st "landing" on Savu Savu airport was "eventful", because upon touching down the twin engine aircraft lost steering when the front tyre exploded on impact!
  Suffice to say; the Fijian Pilot stayed calm and collected as he did an emergency stop - right in the middle of the runway!
  We scrambled off the plane and were ferried back to the basic terminal via the ute-load. All lot's of fun and, a story to tell too!
  Lovely people on the island of Savu Savu. Kind, considerate and very friendly. Highly recommended as a "laid back" destination because things like an evening walk can be challenging because of lack of things we take for granted like street lighting (in some places at least).
  I loved Savu Savu. I went reef fishing with the locals and, took my skin-diving gear for some idyllic snorkelling too.
  HIGHLY recommended.
