An absolute headache! They have set up their own set of rules that other airports around the globe do not have! I couldn't wait to get on my flight and out of the country. Worst airport that I've ever been and I have travelled to 35 countries and I have been through at least 50 airports. Get your act together and stop ruining tourists travel experience!

This is a small boring airport. Very little to do here so do t allow extra time thinking you can shop at the airport. It's all duty free and next to nothing that could be confused with an authentic Fijian souvenir.
At security bring your own clip seal bag otherwise you have to buy one for $1, or they are quick to rummage through your bag to steal your lip balm!
In duty free there re about 30 staff to work a very small area, it feels like you are being stalked. I purchased a bug brand perfume which I'm now sure is a fake, the scent is poor and lasts maybe an hour once you spray it on yourself. So that was a total was of $150.
And to have it almost taken off me at the next check for liquids just before you board the plane is stupid! Why so many checks after you have been through security - I swear it's just a grab for any last dollar you can rob from the tourists.
Spend as little time as possible in this airport.

Expectations are very important when flying into Fiji.. perhaps it is wrong of me to call this a one room airport, but it is essentially a one room airport. Also, there are about 3 windows within this airport. If you are flying through Fiji and stop here, ensure that you layover time is not long, because you will get a serious case of boredom.

It is an improvement from the previous design, and having been to many airports around the world, the Nadi international airport seems to fit the almost right size for it's usage but is devoid of any real reflection of the Fiji Nexus in it's design. Not only should Fiji be setting the standard in the Pacific but also around the world. Not really impressed but certainly an improvement from the previous one. Let see how long we will have this one for until a face lift.

Double check in. Remember to buy your own sandwich bag if you are carrying makeup.

Stopped here in transit from LA to Sydney and again in transit from Auckland to Los Angeles during January 19 and February 3, 2018. I will never fly through here again. This has to be some of the most ridiculous nonsense for any airport anywhere in the world.

When we arrived from Los Angeles we had a three hour stopover to refuel and aircraft and change crews. We left the aircraft and headed into the transit lounge. Even though we had just got off the aircraft from Los Angeles and were only in transit and were restricted to the airport we had to stand in line for this for 45 minutes while just one person processed all of the people on the flight manually. This was bad enough, but then we had to have our cary on bags searched and this took another 15 minutes. They wanted to confiscate our snacks that we had flown with and I had to argue another ten minutes with them explaining we were not leaving the airport and the snacks (crackers and dried fruit) were for us to eat on the airplane. After our layover and we began to again board the same airplane they had to search our bags again. It is just a stupid situation tab this airport.

On our return through Fiji back to the U.S. we again had to go through the same nonsense. This time it was worse. At the duty free lounge in Auckland we had purchased a factory sealed tin of New Zealand butter and a factory sealed bottle of manuka honey. When our bags were searched they confiscated this even though we were not entering Fiji other than the transit lounge. They also confiscated our friend's sewing kit (to sew buttons onto a shirt if it were to fall off).a tiny sewing needle. How stupid is thisthese people are just entirely corrupt.

Bright, modern, clean and cool - good air conditioning! My only gripe is the double checking - the Normal security process then AGAIN before you go into the plane after security passes have been checked. Which means you can't fill up your water bottle - even though there are filtered water taps. You have to buy water from the shops, they seal it for you and it will be ready for your collection after the second roundhmmm, something weird there.

Definitely much better looking airport post renovation. Still work is going on in some places. The approach roads are greatly improved. Good and smooth layout. Has decent choice of duty free shops. Tourist SIM card and exchange service available. Adequate taxi available. It is connected by bus to near by towns. Domestic terminal also improved. Immigration and baggage clearance is still a bottle neck. Overall a definite improvement.

Terrible airport with security staff who will happily make off with your brand new sealed and receipted duty free items even if just going through transit. Avoid transiting through here.

Just compare the taxes that the airport in Nadi charges for its tourists. Travelling to Fiji is getting outrageous from a value for money perspective. Nadi Airport is the only airport in Fiji that makes money and it can be said that based on the taxes slugged to the passengers is probably the worst thing to do because there are other service entities that are generating enough profits out of tourists.

I guess this is where the billion dollar tourism industry tag comes out straight from Nadi International it seems.

As for the infrastructure, the airport itself should have been better planned for the operational flow of passengers in and out of the terminals both in arrivals and departure. This does not appear to be the case therefore it has to be said that the renovations that was done as part of the upgrade project is a complete failure and a waste of money from the authorities responsible.

So much better since the renovations were finished, especially the air-conditioned departure lounge, food (pricey) and duty free shops. Helpful & very friendly staff, especially to those with a disability.
Slightly frustrating to go through Customs/Security (Xrays, discarded all water - totally acceptable procedure with border & flight protection). However, bought a Fiji Water (sealed) in the Departure Lounge, only to board the plane around the corner & have it confiscated?! Drink before you board the plane (we sat on the runway for over an hour as they overbooked our flight home).

Nothing like 2 international flights turning up and they only have one person checking you to the transfer lounge the line was out the door. Someone here needs some common sense

Worst terminal ever. Threw my bottle water that i bought inside the terminal. Banimarama u want tourism in this country c wat ur tsa checks are. Once one goes thru the tsa scan test to the terminal there shud kno be any other tsa checks before boarding the plane. Should trust ur workers in the terminal.

We checked in at Suva and transited at Nadi International. I was immensely impressed with the new Nadi International airport extension on my departure to Auckland. Even the flight delay due to Fiji Airlines aircraft late arrival (due to Hato Hurricane) did not hamper my impression of the airport. I approached the Fiji Airlines check in counter to enquire about the the delay and was impressed by the positive service attitude of the check in agent. He apologized on behalf of Fiji Airlines for the delay and provided meal vouchers for the 4-hour delay.

However what irked me was when we proceeded to airside. Service provided by the airport security was terrible and shocking. The attitude of the staff displayed arrogance. As usual, my toiletries bag included a few milligram tubes of moisturizer, lip balms etc. Instead of advising me that I needed to place all these items into a clear bag (which almost all airports in the world, including USA no longer require) the staff told me that I should buy a clear bag from the retail shop outside. I told her that she could scan the stuff again without a bag if needed to but she insisted the airport do not provide such clear bag and that I needed to buy it from the retail shop. I would have agreed to discard the stuff away if required but her insistence that I should go out again to buy a bag really triggered me off. Seeing that I was fuming, one of her colleagues then provided a clear bag. I then asked if the first airport security staff wanted to scan my items again - she responded that she need not to. What a ridiculous response. Was she more concern about business at the retail shop or airport security.

It is really a shame - excellent airport building and facilities and good check in service only to be spoilt by idiosyncrasies and attitude of the individual staff.

The new extensions are impressive BUT the eateries in the departure are a rip off $14 for a sandwich really!! Getting to the eateries though is a mission and not enough space has been allocated to the Customs area prior to departure. We were in long queue's for ever. Not idea with kids in tow. We got to the airport early but were still pushed for time once we cleared this bottleneck.

Nadi airport has made some huge improvements over the years but the arrivals still needs some work. At least the new departure lounges are far better than they used to be with some reasonable shopping and food court options. There is also a small kids playground and a desk area for laptops with power sockets.

Not a lot of variety when it comes to food, but the limited options check off the essentials like coffee. Spacious with some power outlets located around.

The departure zone is nice and clean but the arrivals is a mess. They are still under construction so we'll see what the finalized product looks like. Maybe it's not their fault but $80 departure fee is RIDICULOUS.

Nice Airport, greeted by a band with guitars which make automatically good mood. But had to wait about 30-40 minutes at the passport check because all the passengers of the whole plane where checked by only three custom officers.

Need more improvement. There are still under construction with their airport. Staffs are alright. It took kind of forever. This was my first time in Fiji and if Fiji government want to attract more tourists. Its best to work on their airport first before anything else. But still; friendly people everywhere. :)
