Visited the Arts Village/Tuslu as part of a Organised Tour Excursion from a visiting Cruise Ship. The fire walkers and Figian cultural demonstration re enacting traditional dancing and tribal warfare demonstrations gave spectators a insight into pre Colonial life in FIGI. Interesting and educational. Arts Village gift shops were well stocked with souvenirs which are reasonably priced.
Touristy shops
Cool atmosphere but getting to be run down
The dorms were fine with nice decoration but some of the staff could have been more helpful.
Really cool spot for tourists. Lots of stores to peruse for gifts or places to get good eats, I would suggest the ribs from the blues bar
Let's start with the Good:
1. Clean, comfy beds.
2. Easy location
3. Front desk staff very friendly
4. Has access to a pool.
5. Generally clean enough.
6. Safe and Secure
Okay, now for the bad.
1. Price is absolute extortion at 35fjd per night.
2. No water for 1 day of my stay
3. Half the power outlets did Not work
4. No cooking facilities
5. Reception has VERY limited hours. (8-5)
6. No games, no travel desk, no interactions.
7. No access to wifi (except at a cafe down the road).
I really hate to give a poor review for a struggling business, but this one could easily be spruced up to be a great Hostel. It's funky, and in a good location, and it could have a kettle/microwave/TV room etc. It's almost like someone just gave up on it and left. The whole arts village looks like a dying old man in desperate need of revitalization.
Charge 20 per night and offer some basic things and this place would have a much better customer base.
