  I enjoyed my stay at Sycamore Pension for the most part. The room and bathroom were clean. The WiFi was what you would expect for Ethiopia. And the staff are friendly and helpful.
  My only complaint would be that someone kept on switching off the fuse that was connected to the water heater. Which was super annoying because I'd be going about my business, thinking that I'm warming up some water for a shower, only to check 20 minutes later to find that the heater has been switched off remotely.
  Other than that, my stay was pretty great.

  Sycamore pension, your second home in gonder.
  The sycamore pension is located in a great place, 2 mins from four sisters restaurant and 10 mins from the piassa. The pension is very clean with hot shower in all the rooms and best WiFi I encountered in Ethiopia. And all of this with a very reasonable price and really good service and atmosphere. She even make welcome coffee and everyday coffee, for free.
  Furthermore, and more important, is the feeling of home you get here. I was spending a whole month in gonder volunteering, I was got at first to the sycamore pension and from the very beginning tigyst, the owner, tried to help me with everything she could. She helped me find the place I was volunteering and gave me recommendations about the city. For all this period Tigyst was like my mother and cared for anything I needed or asked. She is just an amazing and professional person.

  Great value for money in Gondar. Hotel is great, however NEVER, NEVER book a Simien Mountains trip here, specially with a guy called FENTA (sounds like "Fanta"), as he will try to cheat you. Do it in Debark instead. I repeat: do not book a Simien trip to Fenta: he's a liar.

  Clean and comfortable rooms with private bath, hot water running, bathroom mirror. Friendly staff - excellent value for money.
  ATTENTION:
  Never ever book this guesthouse through a tout from the street!! This will double the price, even at first glance the rate seems to be fair. The money will be cashed later. Dismiss the tout instantly and go there on your own.

  One of the best budget hotels in ethiopia. The stuff is very kind and welcoming! Helped us a lot with everything and even when we hanged our laundry and it started raining they took the laundry to dry place so it won't get wet ! Amazing experience
