The old government hotel in town with faded glory feel. Great lakeside location and somewhat decrepit outside sitting area. Basic food and rooms at average price.

Very pretty location on the lakes edge set away from the roads and city. Secluded and quiet. An older building with unique 70s feel. The wait and reception service was great and restaurant feed us well.

Good place to stay. Rooms are not very clean, but you can easily find a lot worse rooms in Ethiopia. Food is eatable and service is good. Excelent positioned on the Tana lakeside and sourounded by a small park which separates you from the city noise.

Know many hotel for tourists in Ethiopia, price performance is Ok.
People are friendly.
Food is Ok.
Nice place for bird watchers.
Until one year ago, the place was nice, nice environments.
Bahir Dar government is allowing to build more and more hugh hotels on the lake shore, this is not friendly to the nature, not friendly to environment, profit of the city will not increase.
May be city politicians should exchange experience with Mallorca politicians. Cement dessert by the beach, paying people are not coming anymore, the rebuild their beaches.
Bahir Dar, don't fail like them.

very bad experience,

once I arrived, I liked the place ,lake view and green landscape.
Rooms are very poor, water basin in the room not in the toilet. TV is not working, Telephone is not working , and no hot water.

My early shower with cold water was horrible.

I reported hot water issue to receptionist, they promised to solve the problem. when I came back at the evening. it was not fixed however the receptionist insisted it is. we went together to the room and open the water and waited for 10 minuets as they said that the water heater is far away from the room , and finally, the water became less cold but still not hot.
we decided to check out at 7 PM . they insisted to charge us for two nights.
they deputy manager was not there and we asked to call him to discuss this .
our driver said that the manager said in Amharic to receptionist not to call him any more. and finally after one hour of aggressive argument we paid the two nights.

I really suggest to try Blue Nile hotel. it's on the lake also.
