These guys are gone glory and they have a problem getting things right. That means you need to be patient sometimes. Be ready for some loose wires, broken showers and sometimes no warm water at all. I was told they are upgrading. Ghion definitely has a lot of potential: they have a beautiful garden, busy with marrying couples almost every Saturday, a decent swimming pool and a legendary jazz club with regular live performances and a lot of atmosphere. Beef up your act and revive that gone glory, guys! A few don't order the chicken sandwich: I spoke to two people who found the chicken bones served in the sandwich (one of them was me)

Terrible service, period. My aunt came here a few years ago and it was a nightmare. The lock on her room didn't lock and neither did the closet inside the room. Wifi is non existent. And all the workers need an additive adjustment. Don't stay here, there are plenty other hotels in Addis that are 100% better.

This hotel is right in the middle of the city of Addis Ababa but you don't hear any noise. It was built in the 60s and still has that 60s decor. Service is good and they are currently the middle of improving rooms and facilities. Huge grounds.

Pretty duff. Had to change room when the curtains fell off and the electric socket fell out. Next room had no hot water. Breakfast poor too. And they couldn't find my prepaid booking.

This may have been a beautiful hotel in the past but currently rooms look like they haven't been maintained since the 80s.

Poor service, even for Addis. Rooms are big and old. Grounds are massive. Difficult to pay with credit card. Would stay again, but prepared to deal with daily minor issues, intermittent internet, unreliable water.

The place is historic and is even called the "Palace Hotel" owing to the fact that Emperor Haile Selassie hosted honoraries from other countries here. The gardens are exquisite and big. Best hotel grounds in Addis for birding.

Corrupt. That is all I can say, especially those at the reception. To all future guest take your voucher with you if you pay online. They have no problem with letting you pay again.
