I was doing engineering consulting in Addis from the US for a month and a half. I immensely enjoyed my stay here! The rooms are very clean, the staff is friendly and the food's extremely delicious! You get free breakfast and lunch/dinner is charged, but I recommend it, it's very good. The guest house is surrounded by a wall, you get a room key and they lock up well at night, so it's pretty safe. Addis in general I felt was safe. Bortukan and Nassibu (the people who run the house) are very helpful if you need directions, a van to take you around the city or to the airport, etc.. The view from the rooftop is splendid, I spent many evenings up there watching the mountains. Also, a lot of foreigners passing through Addis stay at the guest house. I'd stay here again if I came back to Ethiopia.
