Fantastic experience on the 3 day trek climbing up Mt Abune We were a group of 9 with a mixed range of hiking experience, and our brilliant guides Josef and Sami helped everyone trek up to the village where we stayed, and had amazing stories and anecdotes to share with us on the way. We stayed in a highland village, sharing a compound with a local host family, who were incredible. They shared their house with us and could not have been more friendly and hospitable. They cooked coffee for us, shared their local drink, and taught us how to dance traditionally. Some of the group continued to trek up the mountain, which offered incredible views, whilst the others visited the local school. Finally on the last day we walked back down to Lalibela where Kanu had arranged a brilliant guide for the rock hewn churches. I could not recommend this trip more - not only is the experience of staying with the family unique and the views breathtaking, but the company also has a community benefit and includes various members of the highland communities. If you are visiting Lalibela I would suggest adding a couple of days to what can be quite a short itinerary otherwise and doing this trek - I really don’t believe the experience can be had anywhere else. By far the most memorable part of my 3 week trip in Ethiopia.

Our guide Wasihun ‘Kanu’ is a great guy. A self-made man. Speaks English well end clear. He has a great knowledge about the history of Ethiopia, the nature (flowers, animals en plants), cultural habits and politics. Kanu stood out for his flexibility, honesty and his endearing naturalness. We (my father, sister and me) went to Addis, Bahir Dar, Simien, Gondar and Lalibela. Kanu is your perfect travel mate who understands how to make you feel safe, special and let you experience all the beauty and challenges of Ethiopia. Kanu become one big inspiration for us. We will never forget him!

They provide the best trekking tour in Ethiopia over mount Abune Yosef and to all national parks of Ethiopia!
I and my friends from Lalibela vocational school used their services for educational trip to get the experience of trekking tour with the local community and they are really professional company around Lalibela, Ethiopia!
