  Showers don't open till 9:30 AM. Free breakfast is from 9:30 to 11:00 but at 10:30 there is no more food remaining. I was there from 8th to 11th Sept and the microwave doesn't work, the lock to men's shower room is broken as well as the shower door being unclosable leading to water going out and signs ask us to do the cleaning. The debit/credit card machine never works and you have to pay cash. It is low-cost but what it also is is cheap.

  I was unable to arrive on the first day of my booking and informed the hostel staff in advance with the outspoken intent that they could give my bed to someone else on the first night and that I would arrive a day later to fulfil my reservation. The receptionist was American so there was no language barrier. When I arrived, however, they had completely cancelled my booking without informing me, maxed out the capacity of the hostel so that I was left stranded at night in Bilbao, and even refused at first to refund my deposit (and only did so following vocal complaining on my side). I received no apology and no further assistance. Avoid this place.

  Definitely recommend staying here. Had really good craic with the staff and the area is pretty chilled but lots of stuff really close.

  The hostel Surfbackpackers Bilbao have the best location and the staff is so friendly. We ask to leave the back after make the check out and they keep us stuff.
  The place is new and the common areas is amazing .
  Is nice to meet new people and travel alone.

  The fine gentleman who owns the hostel wanted and wants to rip us off. First he put somebody else in our room, which we have reserved before, and then he organised us a apartment. Sounds good in the first place. I don't want to go into detail how much effort it was to come so far. However he then wanted us to pay 250€ on top of what we've already paid for no reason. He didn't even say it to us himself, he sent the poor barmaid who had no idea (or she played it cool) about what's happening. We paid 30€ per night and person which is way too much for the hostel. Sorry, I've traveled the world and I found the worst hostel in Spain, sucks. Save your money and go elsewhere.

  Si estais pensando ir al BBK life, aconsejo obviar hacer una reserva en este sitio, llegadas las fechas del festival, os mandarán un email con un aumento al doble del precio reservado en el primer momento, y si no aceptais, anulan vuestra reserva. Encontradoos en Bilbao, con 2 opciones, dormir en camping o pagar otra pasta gansa por un hotel, pues la mayor parte de los alojamientos están ya reservados. Es una pena, porque el sitio está bien localizado, y a pesar de ser un almacén en el que se transmite mucho el ruido general, está adornado de una forma muy acogedora; sin embargo el tipo ecargado es un argentino impresentable y timador. No os lo aconsejo por nada del mundo.
  A todos los que fuimos el año pasado nos hizo esta gujarreta despreciable y mas despreciable aun cuando nos enteramos que lleva 2 años consecutivos haciendolo. Espero que no lo sufrais nadie este BBK 2016
