I stumbled on Balmaseda during a cycling tour of Europe last year. With no campsite in 20miles this was the only hotel and the helpful tourist office rang to reserve the only room left. What a find!! Fantastic welcome, lovely food and a great room. I will certainly be revisiting when I return to Northern Spain.
