One of the most stylish practical and beautifully located hotels ever.Service and food and wine create a great ambiance. Everyone I saw here was happy! Massage was very good.

I stayed at this hotel for the first time last week which is in the most wonderful location and know it as I have been coming to Sotogrande for some 16 years.
The welcome from reception was great on every occasion!
The room we stayed in and I believe they are all the same are bizarre to say the least. When you open the door you walk into the open plan bathroom and can see straight in to the toilet and on to the bedroom, oh and to top it the bath is next to the window?
The drainage of the shower was appalling - extremely slow to clear, having to wait for the water level to recede before opening the door.
Behind the curtain I found an empty coke bottle which had been there for a while judging by the dust and insects inside.
As mentioned this was our first time staying but we had friends who have previously stayed about 12 times and always take a corner suite - never have they been recognised or given a special welcome from the manager who they have never seen ? - manners cost nothing and we all like to feel special and appreciated.
Breakfast - well where do i start, to be honest it is a joke ! the staff are invisible only appearing occasionally to clear all the tables of dirty crockery and over the four days I lost count of the number of guests having to clear their table before having breakfast - and on the last day there was no cooked breakfast being offered - mind you judging by the state of the offering on previous days perhaps they had just given up?
There is clearly major training required here from the manager down and the hotel cannot simply rely on the fantastic location alone !

The tapas portion of the restaurant is fantastic, as is the bar selection. In the a la carte portion, the good is so so. Steak I got was half fat, and when paying by weight this is not acceptable. This was partially rectified when speaking to the manager
