Beautiful Hotel with excellent views. Quiet and out of the way. Seems to cater to more mature crowd35+. Perfect for Golf lovers. Rooms are clean, well appointed and spacious with high vaulted ceilings. Common areas well kept and price is very reasonable.

Excellent hotel with friendly staff and great facilities for all the family. My wife and I stayed here with my father and our 2 year old son. We had a family suite which had two separate rooms and shared living room which was perfect for us. The pool was great for children. The breakfast was good and dinner in the main restaurant was excellent.
It's not a 5 start hotel but its not pretending to be and certainly deserves its 4. If you fancy something with all the necessary facilities but not over the top luxury then Almenara is a good choice.
As other reviews have noted the pool bar is disorganized and poorly equipped but this was my only complaint and not a big issue. They were happy for us to take our own drinks to the pool.

Not a luxury, quiet, golf place as advertised. You can find small children having pee in the swimming pool, noisy people with bad-behaved albeit tolerated kids in the club building (in spite of having their own club for kids), and even small dogs in the swimming pool area. Good for pretentious middle-class people dreaming of having the high-life experience they cannot really afford. The staff is friendly but too tolerant for bad, uncivilised manners. The food is simply disappointing. Don't even try the 'chiringuito' by the swimming pool. The lunch at the club is really bad considering you're in Spain, and quite expensive for the quality they provide. Not recommended.
