Stunning hotel. Fabulous staff. Great food
Very convenient for sightseeing and close to the airport.
Wonderful place, great service and excellent food! Definitely a must to experience when in Barcelona. Very flexible options for meetings and events, too!
Beautiful hotel with well appointed rooms, plush bed with all amenities you would need and more. Very pleasant and friendly staff. Breakfast is pretty good.
Nice view, great location, right next to a main Ave, tram and subway stations. Room was big and well lit. A/C is kind of weak, but I guess that's more energy efficient. Couldn't figure out a way to turn on just my bedside lamp. It was either really bright or really dark. Room service is great, cleaning staff does a great job. Bathroom was well equipped. Overall, a nice stay. P.S. A package of chocolate covered almonds was in my room when I arrived, great touch!
The building looks amazing and the lobby and staff are excellent. The location is great if you want to go watch Barca FC or get to the metro. The health club and pools are truly resort worthy. Where things broke down for us was the lack of vegetarian options in any of their restaurants and the fact that there were stains and holes in the carpet / furniture in the two rooms that I booked. I get that they are renovating and we were in their older rooms. But, if you're charging for a 5 star, I do expect carpeting that's not worn to the point of having holes and a sofa without big stains.
Staying here for a conference. Great for the airport as only 15mins but 20€ in a taxi to anywhere more lively. Hotel is in the process of being done up if you get a room that's been upgraded great otherwise they are tired. Friendly staff and good service.bit pricey in the bar for food and drinks
Great if you get a refurbished room- not so good if not. It's like your grandparent's house after the have passed away, only the faint smell of urine is missing. Faded grandeur where the carpets are so threadbare it's best to put a towel down at night to protect your feet from the sharp hessian strands, and re-call a grander more extravagant past. As you sit in the magnolia walls with ancient bath fittings you wonder what it could be with a bit of love and attention. You wonder who thinks that 1950s facilities still command 5 star ratings in the 21st century. Miss Haversham would feel at home here- just bring your own cobwebs.Magnificent building and great staff. Alternatively bring Dr Jekyll- he would live in the super trendy half and as for Mr Hyde , he would be in the Victorian wing maybe electrocuting the bathers with the ancient wiring.
I love this hotel. It is like a palace. Its a bit far out away from the center. I have only been there in the evening to attend functions but the place is worth the time it takes to get there. The staff, from the door men to the waitstaff and everybody in between, are friendly and helpful. The piece de resistance on the weekends is Alex, the DJ. The Fairmont snagged a gem when they employed him. We dance the night away and then pour ourselves in a taxi to head home
The service at this hotel is exceptional and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is nothing I didn't like about this place. The club sandwich I ordered from room service was very tasty and the breakfast options were very good. Piano music in the lobby added a nice touch. Neat, clean, and modern. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was that the menu options were a little pricy.
It's an old hotel, but how they kept it at a 5-star level all these years amazes me. You can tell by the lack of sockets and the noticeable locks on the doors.
The rooms, the toilets, the breakfast buffet, the grand lobby, there was a conference there while I was staying. Everything was just splendid. Couldn't find much to complain about. Maybe the price? but of course, you get what you paid for, it's just super deluxe. And even living on a lower floor, I could still feel special and majestic. A must stay~! (If you have the spare change)
