  Has to be the best hot chocolate in madrid! Amazing hot chocolate and lady's fingers (sponge fingers!). The restaurant at the back is small and traditional. A lovely place to visit. The patisserie at the front has an amazing selection of pastries. A wonderful place and you absolutely must visit!!

  A new favorite! I visited this place to try the pastry and chocolate. Both are outstanding! You can order at the front for take away. Or, you can go further in for the chocolate and more. I took away a box of pastry from here to enjoy back at my hotel and share with friends. Put this place on your list of stops. Very convenient location close to the Plaza Mayor.

  Thick hot chocolate 🍫 and pastries!
  
  A pastry shop with nice thick hot chocolate. We tried torrija de leche, which was like a little flaky croissant stuffed with vanilla cream.

  The hot chocolate was amazing, it was rich, thick & not too sweet. The Ladyfingers, or sponge fingers when dipped in the hot chocolate taste divine. Service was average.
  Savory pastries were also very good especially the spinach and cheese one

  This cafe/pastry shop has a storied history. That said, it’s quite stuck in the throes of hyper tourism. Crowded, long lines and incredibly noisy. All that can often be dealt with if the food and drink are top shelf. But the coffee and cocoa were cold. The cookies were a bit stale and the would be Sacher torte my friend ordered did not come close to looking or tasting like the original. Might be worth another go on a less crowded day outside the holiday season.

  Salón emblemático y bien situado pero caro para la calidad que ofrece: café con leche frío y con poco sabor 2,20€ + porción cortada de roscón nada generosa y no reciente (al tenedor le costaba hundirse en el roscón) 3,80€. Total 6€.
  En cualquier obrador de barrio los tenemos recién hechos más ricos y a mitad de precio.
  
  Por último cuando voy a pagar, la persona de la caja charlando con otra empleada, y yo con mis 6€ esperando a que acabaran de charlar para pagar.
  En fin poco recomendable!!

  Buenos dulces y lugar bonito. La atención de mi camarero no fue agradable. Supongo que tuvo un mal día. Quizás no vuelva. No es un lugar barato y la atención debe ser cuidada.

  Muy buena pastelería fundada en 1855 por Damaso Maza, pastelero personal de la Reina María Cristina de Habsburgo. En ella, se puede degustar el famoso roscón de Reyes durante todo el año. Merece la pena entrar a la tienda que precede al salón, para contemplar su espectacular decoración decimononica original, regalo de la Reina, elaborada por los ebanistas de Palacio en madera de caoba, bronce y mármol de Carrara. En su tiempo, esta confitería fué proveedora de la Casa Real. Cómo salón de té, una pena que un lugar tan bonito, sea tan ruidoso y desagradable a según que hora.
