One of the ancient mosques of Cairo, home to a beautiful square minaret which you can climb and gain access to the first floor (overlooking the courtyard) and also right to the top of the minaret via stone steps. The mosque itself is wonderful and the stone architecture is stunning. It is open during the day and tourists should expect to pay 15-20 Egyptian pounds to one of the men seated inside, they will give you some shoe covers and you are then free to walk around as you please. Check out the massive noticeboards with information on the history of the mosque and the extensive refurbishment work.

You can strap on master controls on nature, but she will never give in to human corruption and misdeeds. Nature, in fact, will turn on those who search for the will to control her fertility, her faithful reserves of organic and universal rights of life, eternal evolution and the sacraments of peace and good will for all those who believe in the rights of human dignity and justice for all that is good, righteous and courageous for everyone’s well being.

Beautiful and clean and their new
Generations will bring about false gods,
Ludicrous forms of knowledge and wisdom
While engraving their names in prostitution,
Gambling, the enslavement of human will
For a brief momentous joy of pure glory that,
In the end, will leave them spiritless,
Empty of faith, understanding and spiritual
freedom.
Drug the masses with platitudes of enjoyment,
Sinful living and monstrosities of carnal favoritism,
And you invite the terrors of losing soundness,
The graces of good living only bestowed
On the virtuous, the common man, woman and
Child whose only desire in life
Is to see tomorrow, to be able to smile
And never have to forget the past
And whatever then was worthwhile.
Create a path of wars, legal objections and
Misconstrued truths suggested to be advanced sciences
And you twist the arm of fate, the baseless will
Of animalistic conjectures ready to use brutal force
To take what is not theirs in the name of protectionism,
Weapon superiority and criminal catalytic disgrace
Only psychotic men and women are really
Ready to undertake.
Kill reason with butchery, adultery and selfish
Deceit and you raise Cain to your lips,
Shower the world with smoldering fires and embers
So as to prove superiority and you bring about failures
That no immoral man or woman
Will ever be forgiven for
When they are laid down
In their notorious eternal
Rests.

Great massive mosque, a peaceful getaway from busy Cairo. Climbing the minaret is a MUST.. an amazing view awaits you. No tickets needed and photography is allowed which is a great plus.

A beautiful mosque with historic significance in Cairo. Not usually busy. It's a nice hangout spot. You often find photographers and artists inside trying to capture the best views. Climb the minaret. Wonderful views! There is no ticket needed to enter. Give the guardians 10-15 le per person entering (or whatever you want).

You must visit at least once. Try to climb the minaret.. View from the top is breathtaking! The serene scene inside the mosque is not found in many other places of course the architecture is awe inspiring.
