Overall loved the experience to be at Cairo Airport for layover.
Services are good, airport is cool in terms of temp, completely air-conditioned airport. Amanities are good.
If you are looking for indian food then its difficult to find.
But I loved traveling with #EgyptAir and i wish Egypt could start Transit visa or Visa free roaming for 24 hrs in cairo for the travellers of Egypt Air

Most important thing is it's location.In Egypt this is the best airport in all respect. Provides high quality facilities at fair price. Food is good and highly health consciousness. Health and hygiene maintenance is very nice. It's location is very helpful and provides lot of convenience to the people. Here security arrangements are of high quality. Very neat and clean place. Well arranged and highly maintained by the staffs which makes it attractive for visitors. Therefore I am of the opinion that this is one of the best place to visit.

Not a nice airport. No place to buy food and drink in check in area. Staff is unhelpful and wants money for and piece of information.

I travelled to Egypt many times, but this is the first time I have a good experience in the new airport. The old airport was very bad and I used to wait alot. The communication there and how they treat people was unacceptable by all means. However, now the new airport is really fancy and good. A number of good responsible and fast working immigration staff. The flights don't get delayed like before, and if there is a delay it will be 15 minutes max.

The border control was fast. We got visas from bank desk. At 2:00 am we walk from international terminal to national terminal. They dont have shutter moving people at this hours. There arent sign indicating the correct way

Like for me airports like this, in Cairo, should be twice or third time bigger then are. There are to many people. Or it should be divided to different parts. To big.

Security - this is the worst thing. If you go inside, you cannot go back. I tried go for a smoke. I came back really with the luck. They did not want me come back.

There are many secret agents, police without uniform, checking people, like old times of KGB or USRR. I know that they are afraid of attacks, but really it is to much.

Horrendous!! 0 stars!

If you don't have time to read the full review all I can say is, Cairo airport is like an asylum where you are the only sane one.

I travelled to Egypt on a short holiday with my family. My father and sister do not live in the UK so when I was about to fly home with my sister and niece, my father and younger sister came to the airport to say goodbye it was extremely emotional already but what made it worse was the fact that Cairo Airport has the most peculiar design, you have to go through airport security to enter the airport so our goodbyes were rushed. No sitting and having a coffee or anything you would normally do in a normal airport.

We stood for ages and ages. Once we finally reached the security point the security officer said some other passengers must go before us "as they were about to miss their flight " I'm sure it's not the passengers fault as the Cairo airport system is sooo behind and slow.

Once we finally reached the security there was a man loading people's bags on, he proceeded to load our bags, I said I could manage as I had been warned by some other tourists that staff will often hold your bags hostage until you pay in Egypt. The man carried on loading and was very rude and disrespectful as he wanted us to tip him.

My sister was told that because she was pregnant she couldn't go through the scanner and had to enter through a separate aisle, so I was left with my niece, a pushchair and 4 bags. The bags began to come off the conveyer belt, security officers and staff just stood there as I struggled to keep my niece calm and try and deal with the bags. I left them on the floor in the end as I couldn't leave my niece. Another security officer began to harass me for passports and tickets even though I had already showed these to the officer who allowed me pass security in the first place and despite the fact that he could see I was struggling with all the bags and my niece's tantrum. Then another man came and offered to help he said for 80 EGP he would help, I declined. Finally my sister made it through and I was able to load our luggage onto a trolley.

When we got in there was no info about our flight, the flight no was up there on the screen but there was no status update.. So we had no clue which check in gate to go to, after asking multiple people we finally found someone who knew and thankfully directed us to the correct desk.

Once we had checked in there was yet another passport check, this time there was also a piece of paper that we had to fill out with our passport details (even though the passport is right in front of them). The lady was extremely rude as always in Egypt.

After this there was yet another queue and passport check. Then there was an announcement that our gate is about to close. We arrived 3 hrs prior to our flight but because of the complete chaos at the airport we almost missed our flight.

So in summary this is by far the worst experience I have ever had in an airport, I would advise avoiding Egypt but especially Cairo airport at all costs.
Travelling is tiresome as it is and sometimes stressful especially when you are pregnant and have a toddler, the last thing you need is miserable, rude, disrespectful and money crazy people hounding you like wolves.

over the last years I have visited Egypt more than 20 times now. hated the old terminal 2 but the new one is much better. Love the Alfursan lounge there.

Nice new terminal. Security is really strict when leaving. Be prepared to take off your shoes.

Amazing Airport! Clean airport. Multilingual staff. Airport terminal is nice. Good Food options. Immigration lines are long, but that's what happens landing in a very crowded hour. Overall, it's an amazing airport

It's very clean advanced technology secured and exciting facilitiesspecially designed for New century and expanded flights capabilities of Cairo International Airport..

Cairo Airport is a very good airport. Many good food options. Immigration lines were not too bad. Multilingual staff. Baggage cane quickly. I visited Egypt several times and each time I go, I find something nice. Something negative which is very minor is how people approach you at the baggage claim expecting tips. Nonetheless, Cairo Airport is truly amazing and I hope the minor issues will be perfected
