We took bikes since we had only 1.5 hours before it closed and that turned out to be a great idea.

Impressive open-air museum spans on a huge area. A good way to spend a day and learn about Estonia’s history as well as Estonian people’s old way of living. The installations are very well preserved and have great details. We rented bikes from the reception desk because we are tired of walking. It turned out to be a great idea because the museum is very big to be discovered entitrely by walking. I didn’t mean that it’s impossible but will be physically challenging.

Amaizing place with historical houses brought from different corners of Estonia. This is a museum, but the buildings are alive. They are inhabited, you can knock at the door, enter and talk to the hosts to know the history of the particular Estonian villages. Take a map at the entrance and chose your path, it might take 2 to 3 hours. Greatest views and Instagram spots.

Very interesting place where you can feel like time traveler. "Must see" if you are in Tallin. Only problem was parking paying machine which didn't want my money so i had a problem with parking arm.

All the landscapes that you would need to travel to different cities in the country to visit, are gathered here for you, in a very beautiful and calming atmosphere, as if you are walking in distant villages.
Easily accessible by public transport.
There is also a bike rental at the entrance.
If you visit the place on weekend, you may also get the chance to watch some traditional dances, performed by locals.response / report this review -

Great place to visit to walk around. Don’t come late as some houses might be closed. You basically walk around and see many different building from different eras. A great change of scenery from the the city.

Very nice place to be "in the nature in the city", traditional houses with possibility to enter inside. Very nice walk and staff. Must-see in Tallinn.

TOURISTS BEWARE! this is a nice place but to see the different historical building with people in them, you need to visit early in the day. I went at 6pm on a day that they closed at 8pm and the guy at the entrance informed me that the houses are now closed! 2 hours before closing time! I still strolled around this humongous park, but the experience is not the same as I saw in the pictures with people dressed up.

An excellent experience of feeding sheep together with children. A nice place that gives a living feel of life in a 19th century rural village near the sea.

Great place for bicycle family day. It is like historic town with Estonian village style in a different century. You follow routes and maps to different farms, buildings, swings. They also do horse cart rides.
Perfect if you love walking and enjoy sea views. We didn't get to go everywhere, because on foot with kids you need to plan your distance back to exit. Next time we'll try next area and hope they will fix the sings by the sea.
The place has a tavern to get some drinks and food. However, I would not plan tavern as full meal stop, just comfortable to have a break. Kids were happy to sit and drink their juice, but food was a little bit unusual for them, so "No" to tasting. There are picnic areas, if you do plan a meal break.response / report this review -

A super nice place to walk back in time, they always have some places open - a shop selling timely candies, a tavern, a school. You can walk there inside forest paths or on pedestrian roads, you might see wild goats, and it is specially quiet during winter days. During holidays they usually have special progams and more houses open. They plan to build a railway. My favourite place to take a quiet winter, early spring or late autumn walk back in another era. The area is large, the ticket is aroud 10 euros.
