  My friends and I had a wonderful 3-day experience at Yacuma. The adventure started with our picking up Fausto 1 at the town of Tena to guide us to the lodge. He directed us to a wonderful wild monkey experience where we fed the monkeys eggs and had many laughs. At the lodge, Fausto 1, Fausto 2 AKA Chivo, Rollando, and Blanca (chef) were AMAZING. They are a well-oiled team who truly makes every guest feel at home. I was especially impressed with their accommodating my vegetarian diet. The food was AMAZING. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. The hikes, boat rides, and activities were a ton of fun. Bartholomew was also very welcoming to us, ushering us in and out by boat and opening up his home with his wife, Mama Juanita, to teach us about Kichwa crafts and how they make chicha.

  Absolute worst vacation I have ever had. Activities were a joke. No fans, no AC, just hot and humid. Rooms small, and full of decay and mildew. Left after 2 days of the 4 days I paid for. No animals, and very few birds at all around this place. Biggest thrill was seeing a dragonfly.
