Raw beach, fishing village, surf spot! Great vibe, good restos and accommodations at really affordable below average prices. Hard to get to but enjoyable nonetheless. Recommend and will return.

I live nearby, and truly enjoy the people and atmosphere of Canoa. The beach is great, and the surf is usually very good as well. Lots of yoga instructors if that is your thing. Some great little beach bars, and a few gringos hangouts for those who want that. No bank machines in town, and pretty much all cash transactions, very few places take cards.

Beautiful and sleepy. The town has recovered amazingly from the earthquake and the waves are as good as ever.

Canoa is still reproduce a kind of turism low level high prices. Poor quality for cheap prices.
I make a reserve in a restaurant for my group (20pax) at the moment to take the food the son of the owner said me there weren't all the dishes we ask for bc I didn't pay a part, when this guy didn't tell me anything about an advance. We went to another. As we divided into two tables. Waiters take orders just of one of them, the other one, as didn't was on attention ask to the waiter but this guy said the restaurant didn't have enough portions for them. We pay for charts meals as a solution.

This is not a private beach, but it has a private beach feeling. If that's not enough to entice you, having a beach to yourself. The ocean brings in broken pieces of pottery, and if you are an Indiana jones type, this part you will love. Amazing sunsets, all the places along the beach have fresh fish and savory dishes. Super cheap.
