This restaurant offers great traditional ecuadorian food (including guinea pig -cuy). It is priced for tourists but if you do not know the city I recommend going here because it's around Plaza Foch (it even has a nice view of it from the 2nd floor). There is a menu for kids and if you go on sundays they offer a 4-course meal for USD$15. This includes: appetizer, soup, main course, dessert and juice. The fish with shrimp sauce was delicious and the guinea pig is a culinary experience that all tourists should try.

This is a great combination or truly Ecuadorian culinary meals and some options of foreign meals like filet mignon! That place is a good for private groups. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

If I hadn't had really great cuy elsewhere in Ecuador, I would have thought this was pretty good; however, I would recommend trying cuy elsewhere because this was overpriced, did not have the traditional flavor to it, and the skin was not hard and crunchy like it should have been. Also, I'm pretty sure the canelazo did not have any alcohol in it (and if it did it was a very small amount).

The locro de queso (cheese soup) was delicious, though, and the upstairs view of Foch plaza and the Pichincha volcano while the sun was setting was pretty neat!

Pros: convenient location, good menu, nice atmosphere, good service, open late, has a security guard.

Cons: surrounding area is touristy but sketchy, food is overpriced, staff speaks only a few words of English, level of culinary art left me very unimpressed.

Verdict: I'd only go there if other places are closed. Otherwise, there are plenty of various food options around that are better and cheaper.

We stumbled across this place while wandering around, later its was recommended by 3 different people as a good place for "local" food. Everything we had was pretty good, beef was tasty, humitas were really tasty!

Good location, good food and decent prices along with a table side magician who was actually pretty good. Not sure how often he's there but a good spot for authentic Ecuadorian food.

Traditional Ecuadorian food right off the plaza. Prices were very high compared to similar places we tried. I had one of the steak dishes, and it was very undercooked, so be aware of that if you order steak. My wife had a samplig platter that looked a bit better, but still nothing special.

Me and my crew ate here a few weeks ago looking for Ecuadorian cuisine close to our hotel. The food was really good. We enjoyed the empanadas and the deserts very much. We also learned that Ecuador has a pretty good wine culture there as well. Good price range. and nice view of Foch Square.
