Attentive & polished wait staff serve a tasty meal that is very creative without overshadowing the basics. Ex: while there was a lot going on with the crab dish, the delicious crab was not overrun by it's accoutrements. The mixed ceviche was another dish that paid close attention to delicate flavors. Oh, and get the chocolate souffle.

Great service and the food is good especially the desserts. Reservations recommended as they usually fill up quite quickly. Their wine selection is amazing and have an entire room dedicated to wine.

Great dishes! Ambience was lovely. The only negative was the small amount of wine in the glasses. I complained and they poured more. Service was excellent.

We arrived on New Year"s Eve to discover that there was a misunderstanding between our hotel and the restaurant which was closed for a private party. The staff deserves 10 stars for how they dealt with the situation. First, they asked the chef if he had enough food to feed us. He didn't but they invited us to wait in the bar for the cab they called for us. There they brought us champagne and seared tuna explaining they did want us to go hungry. While there we were able to make another reservation. The champaign and tuna were fantastic. Thanks Zazu for saving and making our night.

Zazu is a beautiful restaurant in the La Pradera area of Quito. The dining rooms are well appointed and are as nice as any in the United States that I have been to. The service is wonderful and very attentive. The food is excellent and their wine cellar has many hard to find wineries and vertical vintages.

I suggest taking a taxi, as parking in the La Pradera area is very difficult.

Zazu is certainly not a "bargain" restaurant. However it is an excellent choice for a fine dining experience.

The waiter kept coming back to ask what our selections were. He brought out the wrong bottle of wine. They did not have three dishes, one of them was what I wanted. I ordered the filet mignon but sent it back because it was over done. And then the second steak was over done also but I ate it like a petulant child.

The ceviche mixto was okay but the shrimp and the octopus were previously cooked and not made to order. The pork taquitos were dry and flavorless. My chocolate soufflé was wet and had not risen at all. Our check was $175 but the experience was not worth it!

I've eaten at Pujol in Mexico City and that was one of the greatest culinary experiences of my lifeall for the same price. Zazu is trying but it really needs to step up if it wants to be considered and recognized as a legitimate player in the Quito food scene.

Fantastic food and service. Ecuadorian food is really tasty. I am vegetarian and my entre and main were exceptional so i recommend you try some vegetarian dishes even if you are a meat eater. Dessert yummy too.

All in all, I was impressed with Zazu, but in thinking about the tasting menu overall, I didn't quite think the place lived up to the hype or the cost. Was everything mostly delicious? Yes. Was the place nice? Yes. Was the service good? Yes.

It is still great food in a nice atmosphere. I think I was just hoping for that slight bit extra that would vault it into exceptional. Compared to most places, the food here is still really good.
