Excellent BBQ as always, from the onion rings appetizer to the ribs and sausage with a slightly spicy sauce, coleslaw, corn bread, roasted new potatoes, dessert and coffee. Don't miss out on this monthly treat.

I went here for Thanksgiving dinner, along with about a hundred other Americans. What a disaster! Overpriced really bad food. Slow horrible service.

The ambiance was amazing. And the food was good but they had a short supply of ribs and bread and some people only got two rib links/two bones and they ran out of bread for our table and some who got a piece of corn bread said it was dougy in the middle. It was less then a child's portion of food. They did apologize and took 4 dollars off our bill. It was reduced from 14 to 10 dollars a person but still It was not worth 10 dollars I was very disappointed. I will not go back unless I know for sure that the restaurant has made nessasary changes to ensure a much better experience for their customers.

Restaurant in a private home that's open a couple days per week. Mostly US expats in attendance. Fixed menu served family style. It was a lot of fun to talk to the people and the food / surroundings were excellent!

This setting for this reservation only restaurant is incredible. It's very private, no sign(s) on the outsideonce you enter the walled compound you discover a beautiful bar and restaurant with a lovely garden on the back side.

If you haven't been or don't know about this place its clientele is virtually older, retired gringos. After mingling in the garden for a 1/2 hour or so the "guests" shift to the dining area where guests sit at designated tables to enjoy their $14 or so meals.

All the guests are served the same item. The mainstay of that night's meal was a super rich, creamy sauce with big chunks of chicken served on a bed of thick noodles. Honestlythe meal was only so-sothe meal was too rich for my liking. I couldn't finish it. The dessert was some strange layered cold ice cream stuff. I was surprised that coffee wasn't offered at the end of the meal to at least wash down all of the sweet sauces that were in the dessert.

SoI would rate the physical location as 5 star. Howeveron a food basis..only 3.

I don't think the people who frequent Joe's are going for the food. Much of the attraction is that it's a nice place where 65++ aged retired gringos get a chance to have a social occasion with others like themselves.
