Our first room had a bed with a terribly worn mattress, a very old and non functionng air conditioner, and no internet coverage.
We changed rooms, the door lock didnt work 4 times we wanted a coffee and the waiter ignored us.
When we checked out they attempted to charge us for an amicano ( when the waiter ignored us, my husband helped himself to the cafe pasado, in the urn left from breakfast undrinkable). AND the attemptd to charge us for the free water! ( water from the taps in Guayaquil is unsafe to drink). Basically, for the first time in our 5 years in Ecuador, a hotel saw gringo faces and tried it on. We have stayed in dozens of hotels all over Ecuador, and I would never return here, nor would I recommend it, to anyone non Ecuadorian.

Cheapest closest nice hotel to airport. You can walk to the airport in 10 minutes or so. Shopping and restaurants within walking distance.

El aire acondicionado de este hotel es malo. Esa noche no pude dormir x el ruido que hacia el aire al prenderlo.. Y si lo apagaba el calor no se soportaba. Mal experiencia en ese hotel no lo recomiendo.

Fairly new hotel, mostly caters to business people. Breakfast is buffet and actually quite good. Rooms are invariably clean and comfortable, if not luxurious. Service is usually good as well.
