My only regret is that I didn't find this place sooner as I would have loved to stay for more than one night. Definitely a great choice if you want a couple of days to acclimate at the start of your time in Ecuador or to recharge before you go home. Stunning rooms and grounds, outstanding service. Really just an amazing place. Took my daughter on the trails to feed the llamas and see all the beautiful birds. Loved it

Recommended by my sister who stayed with her husband in November on their way to Galapagos.

Really lovely way to ease into Ecuador. 20 minutes from the airport. Very peaceful, beautiful grounds, smart, nice staff, good food, great ambience. We stayed here on way to Galapagos, liked it so much we came back for a few hours, had dinner and sat by the fire until it was time to go back to the airport for our flight home. Memorable place, glad we brought our friends here with us.

The Archeology Dig: Daniel, the gracious Hacienda owner, gave us a personal tour of the amazing Inca-era escape tunnel that workers happened upon by accident years ago. We descended approximately ninety feet down a hand-carved, underground winding stairwell which gave access to a seemingly endless tunnel that ultimately opened onto a large subterranean chamber. The chamber still contains ancient pottery that was used to store water, grains and food for emergencies to hide from invading enemies. The far side of the chamber had another opening that led to a small hidden cave high in the side of a sheer cliff that enabled the inhabitants to reach the river far below by lowering a rope ladder. This was an experience not to be missed!

What a gorgeous property! Only stayed one night but wished we had had another. Our room was stunning and so was the lobby and restaurant. Highlight was getting a bag of carrots to feed their llamas which were only a 15 minute hike through their forest and past the top of a beautiful ravine.

Fromt he outside, this hotel does not look at much, but once you open the gate and get inside, then you will find a real gem. The hotel have their own local park (quite big!) with a lot of view points for birds and other species. Especially the hummingbird is rich represented. The staff is very kind, and the owner is happy to spend the evening and talk about other countries and places. The food is also great and the rooms is fantastic. The location is only 15 minutes from the new airport in Quito.

We stayed at Hotel Casa de Hacienda La Jimenita for two nights before our trip to the Galapagos islands. Hotels staff has been very friendly and helpful. The on-site restaurant is pretty good as well. The chicken and fish both tasted great. Would recommend staying here.

We stayed 2 nights before our Galapagos. The hacienda is just 20 minutes from the new airport. There are 14 acres of grounds where they attract hummingbirds and other birds to the property. The rooms are rustic, but the beds very comfortable. The shower was amazing with all of the jets. The main building of the hacienda has a large fire place with a couple of couches to relax if you don't want to be in your room. The restaurant serves a complementary wonderful breakfast. Dinner is also available at a very reasonable price. We were made to feel at home by the wonderful host and staff. I would recommend this as a relaxing place to stay if you want something near the airport.

Amazing. Stayed here with family for two nights after arriving in Quito. This is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places I've ever been and we have travelled to Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and across the Caribbean and other places. The owners made us feel at home. Breakfast was delicious. The bedding was very comfortable. We can't wait to return.

Awesome place to stay for a few days or if going to/from the airport. Birds are amazing, the place itself is fascinating with many Ecuadorian touches and archeological artifacts found on the property. The owner is a true gentleman and is a pleasure to talk to. Then there are the extremely friendly staff.. the great meals. the small agricultural plots.. the llamas and the ancient hand-dug tunnel.. can't say enough positive about this place! Wish we could have stayed longer!
