It’s all right for the price, good value. It usually has hot water, but last time it didn’t.
Papallacta
Had a pleasant stay at Hostal Coturpa. The breakfast was excellent and Rodrigo was very friendly and accommodating. It's also conveniently located right next to the public hot spring baths (not to be confused with the more luxurious private Termas resort). We found the spring-fed hot water in the room's shower to be hit or miss; we had one unpleasantly cool shower one day and another that was perfectly warm. One downside is the lack of insulation, meaning that sound and cold enters through the window, and you can hear into the hallway pretty well. I would recommend turning on the room heater as soon as you arrive, as it took a while for our room to heat up. A few other tips would be to be conversationally proficient in Spanish and maybe find a different taxi than the one the hotel has on file, as the driver overcharged us to go to Guango Lodge (we got the proper rate to the Termas after asking, though).
Quiet and peaceful place with nice and friendly owners.
