We had an absolutely magical stay almost a year ago, and as the anniversary of our visit approaches, we keep thinking about it. The hacienda, its gardens and surroundings are breathtaking - a perfect place to unwind and absorb beauty and history. I hope we’ll be back soon.

This top of the line Resort is the reconstruction of what was once a huge Hacienda in this part of the Andes

It's construction dates back to the early XVII century, 1602 to be precise. The Luna family bought it as an auction, from the Spanish Emperor, Felipe the 3rd.

More than 100 thousands acres included 2 valleys and the beautiful Lake San Pablo

Hi there
I wanted to take the opportunity to express my sincere thanks for what was, perhaps, the most memorable of stays of any of the hotels or resorts I have ever been to – and there have been more than a few. While in Ecuador I had the privilege of staying at the Hacienda Cusin. I am truly at a loss for words when trying to express the loveliness of the place: the greenery, gardens, fruit trees and near fairy-tale flowers were just fantastic. In addition, the staff are simply superb: along with genuinely making a person feel special, the meals were excellent. In fact, the grand service along with the fantastic food – all local and organically grown – made the dining some of the best gourmet experiences I have had, truly.

As far as the room went, my bedroom window overlooked lemon trees, flowering shrubs, a lovely private garden, as well as the majestic Imbabura mountain. Here again the staff proved themselves above and beyond in not only paying attention to the smallest details of the room, but also in helping to arrange terrific tours and excursions. I enjoyed the amazing sights, tours and a wonderful trail ride (the guide for this too was good). I am not exaggerating when I say that my stay at the Hacienda Cusin proved to be one of the best and memorable holidays I have ever had. I would unreservedly give Cusin the highest possibly recommendations to anybody. (I would also like to offer a very special thanks to General Cesar the exceptional host and manager.)

An excellent, romantic place with great food and great service. The surrounding gardens are beautiful and the attention to detail is perfect. The owner wanted to restore this place to its historical elegance and he did a great job. Highly recommended.
