*BEDBUGS in the DORM!*
This is 2 buildings, the reception is on the side further from the beach. i stayed on the beach side dorm and woke up to several large painful bites in my back. On my last day they really started itching. The staff are probably too stoned too notice.
Aside from that it's right on the beach, but if you walk further along, there are offline rooms for $8/double. DMCA ( dorm) is $7 but it's the only place in mompiche with atmosphere. I had great conversations with people in DMCA so if you're not sensitive to bug bites definitely visit, or upgrade to a private room as they are often empty and therefore will have less biting insects waiting for you. Private double here is $12 or $14 i think.

DMCA (De Mompiche Con Amor) hostal is generally a really great hostel with a few caveats that might have you look elsewhere.

Positive: the service here is absolutely above and beyond. Any questions, any needs, any spills or problems and the staff is very helpful. Our private room overlooked the ocean within a few meters for a great price. Food and drinks are served nightly at the restaurant in the terrace. Surf showers and standard showers are available. There is a large terrace with hammocks open to guests on the third floor. Prices are reasonable.

Negative: the site, like most of Mompiche, doesn't have a water heater (there is no running water in Mompiche), so the showers are cold (it's usually toasty outside so it's actually fine). The rooms are also open to the outdoors somewhat; this is good for airflow, but the walls are infested with insects such as cockroaches, and at one point I woke up to one crawling on me (and a half dozen more in the bed). It's not a huge deal, but some people with fears of insects might choose another location. Though the prices here are good, there are other hostels with similar, if not better, prices. The hotel next door, for example, is about the same price, and has more amenities, though lacks the ambiance of a hostel.

Overall, I do recommend the hostel, especially for those who don't mind being a little closer to outdoors. It's lovely and affordable.

Dank, 42O friendly, and a typical hammock filled beach hostel. The wifi works well in the common room and the people whom work there are awesome!

Awesome hostal at a great price. The owners are Argentina and super great people. They speak English as well as Spanish and they are more than happy to help you in any way shape and form :-)
