We happened to meet with Sandra Patino, the General Manager, and she is the Best!!! She is very passionate and enthusiastic about Mindo and Birds. She specializes in Bird tours which she has been doing for over 17 years in Mindo. One of the important considerations for us was that she speaks and comprhends English very well and she listens well. She set up several tours for us to accommodate our schedule. We can not say more about her professionalism and positive personality. She follows up and checks back with you to ensure that she and her staff and guides have met your needs. She can explain each of the tours and can show you current pictures. We were especially lucky as she was our guide for our birding tour to see toucans and finding the Cock on the Rock at 5:30 in the morning. Being first time birders she provided special binoculars and brought a telescope with which she could use in combination with her and our cell phones to take close up pictures of the birds. She knows the birds by their sounds, markings and can make numerous bird sounds to call for the birds.

Sandra, the General Manager knows her birds! She and her driver picked us up at our hotel at 5:30am and for the next 5 hours we were in bird heaven. She takes the time to identify and explain about the many birds we found. She has an excellent spotting scope to really enhance the experience. She also provided a very nice pair of binoculars for me to use. Also, her English is excellent.
