It fell well short of my expectations, I had the vegetable soup and the eggplant ragu special. Both were severely lacking in flavor. However the portion was large and the service was good. Based upon my meal I would not recommend this restaurant.

As amazing as everyone says. Ever dish (of the handful available - although diverse) is made to a very high level and full of flavour with proper ingredients!

This was the best meal my friends and I have had in this part of the world. Real cheddar cheese! Nuff said.

I had two arepas (pulled pork and cheese, and chicken and avo) And was so stuffed from the first one (an amazingly full and happy stomach for $3!).

The service was great. The food exceptional. I'll recommend this place to anyone.

This place deserves it's fame.

Alto Caribe has a small menu, but there is everything on it that you need! The food is amazing and the portions are really big, but you always want to finish because it's so tasty. I can recommend the chicken with mushroom sauce!

Ate here three times since the first time was excellent. The three soups we had were perfect, lots of vegetables and beans with a pleasant broth. The Spanish torta was tasty and not over cooked. The highlight on our second dish has to be chicken with mushroom sauce. The sauce was out standing.

Wonderful food, fantastic service. We went twice for dinner and once for breakfast. The breakfast options were are favorite but the vegetarian plates of the day were also very good. The only complaint is that the coffee was rather weak.

Alto Caribe is easily my favorite restaurant in Banos, Ecuador. I'm a vegetarian so there are lots of good options. Plus, Laura and Gabriel (who run the restaurant) are such beautiful, friendly people. The food is delicious (the best in Banos - in my opinion) and the price is just right. Highly recommended!

Outstanding food at bargain prices! Venezuelan Fusion! Best Breakfast in Baños de Santa Agua. Best Arepas EVER! Delicious lunch & dinners. Soup and main course for $3.75. Hidden away behind the Cathedral, make sure you include this place on your tour of Baños de Santa Agua, Ecuador.
