It is rare for a place to live up to all the reviews but Surfbreak does not disappoint. It is safe, friendly, beautiful and minutes from an amazing surf beach. The staff are remarkable and make you feel right at home. Highlights at Surfbreak include sharing a drink or meal poolside with the other guests, yoga during a tropical storm and of course the resident dogs. Our whole trip to Cabarete was amazing but I don't think it would have been the same if we had not stayed here. Miss it and would go back tomorrow if we could.

Surfbreak has really been like a little paradise and me and my friends had a wonderful time there. The place is beautiful and like all great places it is filled with good people. First of all obviously Julliana, the manager of the hostel, who arranges everything for her guest from pick ups to grocery runs to the supermarket or booking tours. And with all that she is the friendliest and kindest person ever so you really don’t hesitate to get her advice. But all members of staff are super friendly and helpful and it creates a really relaxed and homely atmosphere. The place itself is very green with lots of outside space to hang out around the pool or in one of the many hammocks. The place is located a 5 minute walk from Encuentro beach which is great for surfing and is in between Sosua and Cabarete. So you have the perfect mix between a quiet and unique spot far off from big all inclusive resorts but get really quickly in the cities for going out or shopping. Thank you so much for making our holidays so special at Surfbreak Cabarete we will definitely come back again!

If looking for a place to relax you just hit the jackpot . The place itself is like a zen garden ,calm ,quiet and neat . You wake up with birds chirping and at night you can hear the sea whispering. The yoga studio is fantastic,they even have some hammocks around the place so you can enjoy the tranquility outside your room.
The personnel is very kind and respectful ,Julius (the owner) makes you feel at home the moment you get there , he and Claudio (his assistant) are really caring and friendly people , they’ll give you a tour around and some tips on which places to go or not to if you are traveling alone or with others. El encuentro beach is a 5 minutes walk, perfect to take some surf classes (Julius would help you with that) .The town center is 5 or 7km away, there are taxis or mototaxis if you need to go out and get some food (only breakfast is included in price) . They have a kitchen so you can make your own meals where by the way you get the chance to get to know the other guests , in my case met really cool people .
I will definitely be back as soon as I have a break.

If you are a surfer looking for a nice clean place to stay near the surf-breaks of Ecuoronto beach this is definitely the spot.
The placed is privately manged and operated by the owner Julius and he runs a tight ship.
They also give a tour of the town Cabarete with suggestions for food and orientation
f you are a surfer looking for a nice cool down to earth clean place to stay near the surfbreaks (not fancy) of Encuentro beach this is definitely the spot.

I would highly recommend staying at Surfbreak Cabarete. It's perfect when you are travelling alone, as a couple, with friends and with family. The room was spacious, clean and there were fans, airconditioning (we didn't use this as the fans were sufficient), water and a fridge. The garden is beautiful and it has 2 nice pools. Location was ideal for us as it was a 10 min walk to Encuentro beach where we surfed. The centre of Cabarete is also not far away by car. Julius was a great host, clear communication in advance and during our stay we got loads of tips where to go and what to do. Also enjoyed hanging around with the other guests (and the dogs and cats) and Julius even organized a BBQ night. If we visit Cabarete again, we would definitely stay at Surfbreak again!

Julius provides a fantastic experience for those seeking solace in the beautiful Dominican Republic. His lodging stands head and shoulders above the rest thanks to well-maintained and picturesque grounds, rooms cleaned daily, an unbelievable yoga studio space, quiet and respectful guests, personal customer service that goes above and beyond, a full kitchen, swimming pools (cleaned daily), yummy food, great value, and excellent beach access. Stay at Surfbreak Cabarete and you'll understand why it's one of the best places to get away in the D.R.

Absolute great place to stay and feel like home. 5 min walk to the Encuentro beach for great surf (beginner or good surfer, renting board, lessons etc) 20 min walk to Kite beach and about 5 km from Cabarete. Julius (owner) and Juliane (manager) were great host, alway available for help like taking us to the market when we arrived or organising tours. Very nice and clean appartment, gorgeous place with lots of flower bushes, great pools, big shared kitchen and nice area to eat by the pool and make new friends. Great yoga classes. Thank you Julius and Juliana, you made our holiday memorable.

Me and my boyfriend absolutely loved that place. From all the places we stayed during our three weeks in the DR this was our absolute favourite. Juliana the manager was the nicest person on earth, showed and drove us different places, she really made our stay perfect, nothing we missed, she made everything possible day and night!!! The rooms were incredible, clean and really one of its kind. Surfbreak is located really close to the encuentro beach and even though I'm not surfing it was great to hang out while my bf was surfing, it's certainly a place where not only surfers can stay :) Cabarete was from all the towns we've visited the best. We'll definitely come back! Thanky you!

We had a great time there!Everything whats written here is pulling me there again.
The room was very nice and the price very accurate for that what you can use there. You really need nothing to think of everything is organised petfectly. Clean swimming pool just in front of the Table or next to your room.To walk around is like a safe jungle full of fruits. The service was very good! J. Surfbreak is everything you want for a vacation. People are really nice, Julius (the owner) and Juliana are really kind and caring people. The room was excellent and comfortable. The pool and the garden are always clean. The beach is close, and really great to practice surf. You have to make your own food, but is great to meet new people in the comunal area. I recommend this place if you want to take a peaceful and relaxing vacation with friends, family or significant other.
