You get a connection with nature.

Food is not good. I felt that is too expensive for what it is.

The access to the hotel is very difficult. The roads are not completely finished.

The bathroom of our room was dirty.

Beautiful place. If you like nature you will love this place. My only problem was that there was no deep water to jump in, all of the pools were 3-4 feet. Food was delicious and service was great. Excursions are not the best. Zip lines are not high and kayaking was okay.

A beautiful getaway with an affordable price! The incredible views, fresh air, and unique pools with fresh, clean water all make this place a perfect eco-hideaway. A couple of notes for future travelers:
    1) Getting there is difficult. It is near the entrance to Parque Los Haiteses. Using public transport would be difficult, but not altogether impossible as you can get a moto from the main road. If taking public transport, a large car or 4-wheel drive is a must for the road, especially if it has been raining.
    2) The resort is very remote, meaning you have no other options for food, drink and activities.
    3) The hotel is connected with many tour groups and those trips are affordable and a wonderful experience - I highly recommend them.
    4) This place is not for those who want to be electronically connected! If you have Claro, you'll get some data at some parts of the hotel. The WiFi does not work 80% of the time, and is only accessible the other 20% of the time from the restaurant area.
    5) The hotel is not good for elderly or handicapped. There are stairs and slippery rocks everywhere, and rooms are only accessible by going up multiple stairs. The rooms with the best view require more than 120 stairs to get there, making it an incredible workout, but not the best for grandma.
    6) There are frequent day trips and field trips that arrive, which disturb the peace in the afternoon. Just be prepared for them!
    7) The food, while good, isn't incredible. The breakfast options are very limited. The Asopao de Camarones is INCREDIBLE as is the Pescado al Coco.

We honeymooned here and thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. We went on a cave tour guided by Juan Carlos, who did a wonderful job sharing the history of the petroglyphs. The hotel itself is very unique, you're right in the forest.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and the experience was wonderful! A website said they only had one room available so I called after making the reservation; they were generous enough to give us a free upgrade to their honeymoon suite. Once we arrived, the service was great! Clean location, kind people and good food at decent prices. We hope to stay there again some time.

Very distant attraction from Samana town, accessible by boat to Sabana de la Mar and then with "motoconcho". But it is worth a visit. Relax, fresh water swimming, local food.
