amazing unique location, natural pools and beautiful scenery
a few things:
- road here is basically nonexistent, we took a car but should avoid vehicles that can't handle a muddy trail
- no ATM anywhere close, bring cash for excursions, tips, etc
- take an excursion or two!! guide is incredible and so is scenery
the two hotels are joined, honestly not sure why they consider it two but I think this one had nicer views, you can use amenities at both from eitherresponse / report this review -

Difficult to get there (horrible road) but definitely worth it! It was a magical place. We loved listening to great music that was at most times in the restaurant. We went on our honeymoon and they gave us an awesome Catalan cava to celebrate it! Awesome food and people. Incredible natural pools. We would definitely come back despite the road and we would have stayed even longer!

The Restaurant and hotel alto de caño honda had, at 2 of 3 days of our stay, an unattentive service (the 3 times we ordered, they didn‘t bring what we wanted or mixed the order). Try instead the restaurant nearby the pools. Same menu, and a super service you will get there. The Architecture, the rooms, the hotel facilities and the maid service were glamorous.

The lobby is located in the bar and if you don't know the hotel it can be difficult to find at first sight since there's no sign above the reception when entering from the outside. The staff is almost only Spanish speaking. One of the young tour guides speaks a little English but not much. He doesn't always understand the context of a conversation. We ordered crab meat from the hotel restraurant when we arrived but got parts from the shell in the meat which made it difficult to eat. When we told the staff they told is it's the way it should be. Not sure about that? Anyway. The service in the restarant was very confusing and it didn't seem like the waiters cared about giving good service. There was a short haired Dominican waitress who seemed annoyed by our presence which was uncomfortable. The rooms are clean and spacious with amazing views. Loved the hammock outside! This hotel is located in a beautiful area. Worth staying here at least 2 nights. No aircondition, only fans in the ceiling! You can easily access the swimming pools at the Hotel Paraiso Caño Hondo for free when you wear a hotel bracelet. Bring repellent with you in case of mosquitoes. We didn't expereince many but there were some few. We really enjoyed staying here and wished we could have stayed for longer. Breakfast is nice here too. They serve different types of eggs, Dominican breakfast etc.

Bellísimo lugar con un ambiente totalmente ecológico donde te puedes dar un refrescante baño en las aguas del río que descienden de la montaña hacia las piscinas naturales.

Food👌it was really good and tasty prop to the cooks. Ruth and Jordy they really are the best.. It really is a Great place to disconnect. And don't forget to go see nature with Wilfre in one of their excursions..
However or first room bed was very unfcomfortable they where very good in acomodating us. its really hard to get a signal

Un endroit qui se mérite car au bout de 10kms de piste difficile, et hors des circuits touristiques (sabana de la mar, sorte de bout du monde)
