If there is a heaven "terra firma" on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, this might very well be the place. Tranquil, clean and well appointed with attentive and friendly staff. Glad my wife and I went. And we will go back.

I have stayed here for one week and overall it was a nice vacation. Here the plus and minus.
    Plus:
The cabanas are very nice, they pay attention to every details. Everything was very clean, no bugs or so.
The breakfast is quite good (for a place in the Caribbean), but also see below in the negative points.
The dinners are really very good! I ate there every evening. It is for sure not cheap (for this country), but they do a very good job. However I was not impressed by the pasta. Better stay with the fish and meat dishes. Very good starters!
The location is also nice, beach not crowded at all, more or less only hotel guests. It is quiet; however you will be far away from any other restaurants or shops. If you want to go somewhere you need to take a taxi or rent a car or motorbike.
The beach is nice, but the water is always rough and it was always very windy. You can go into the water, but you cannot swim or relax in the water, it is only ok to cool down for some minutes. If you walk towards Cabarete for about 10 minutes you get to another beach. There it is a little bit easier to get into the water, but still very rough.
    Negative:
My room (Tanzania) was probably the one which is at the worst location. It is right at the street, which actually ends here, but still there was some noise at night (cars, bikes and people). I guess I was just unlucky.
The WLAN was a joke. It was actually very fast when it was working, but most of the time it did not work at all. It would come and go, very annoying. Also you only got a good signal close to the reception. Already at the restaurant or my room it was very weak to not existing. Of course you should be there to relax and not use the Internet too often, but this is still no excuse for the bad Internet connection.
As already mentioned the breakfast was good, but it depended very much how many people did have breakfast. It was open till 10:30. Sometimes I would come at 10:15 and everything was still there and they would not clean up the buffet till about 10:40. But at other days at 10:00, all the bread was gone, almost all the granola, coffee, juice They would not fill it up and instead start cleaning up at 10:20. In general the personal at the breakfast was less friendly then the women who took care of the dinner.
Overall for sure a nice place and if they would improve some details I would give them 5 stars.

It's a wonderful little hotel with about 10 cabins. Each of the cabana's have a wonderful natural feel with big stone showers. Paths meander throughout the land and lead to the pool, two restaurants, an amazing yoga studio, massage, and to the beautiful private beach. The coast here is incredible, 500 meter soft sunny beach with coral walls at either end. they constantly take the beating of the waves, exploding like fireworks.
Every Night the lullaby of the island breeze whisked us away to sleep.
