Very well structured knowledge base of the Dominican culture and very reach on primitive artifacts and explanations. Staff very trained on social studies and very friendly. A little outdated on the edification itself but nothing too drastic, just would appreciate a little more effort on catching the tourists views by upgrading more the building itself.

El museo del Hombre Dominicano es un museo situado en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, que está constituido por diferentes salas de exposición, el cual en su conjunto ha logrado la mayor colección de objetos y reliquias de los habitantes taínos a nivel del caribe, especialmente de la isla La Española. Está ubicada en la Plaza de la Cultura, fue fundado el 12 de octubre de 1973 y diseñado por el arquitecto José Antonio Caro Álvarez, durante el gobierno de Joaquín Balaguer.

Very cool museum. A little dated, and they seem to have a problem with lights. However, it was very nice to learn more about the history of the DR, including pre-colonial, colonial, and independence eras. Top floor has an amazing display of Carnival (Independence Day) celebrations in the DR, with region-specific costumes and customs.

It's old and falling apart but it does have interesting displays and some beautiful taino objects. The admission price is not inflated.

El museo cuenta con exposiciones permanentes que nos muestran las historia de la isla desde sus origenes, es un gran espacio para conocer como somos, de donde venimos y como vivimos. El museo del hombre es unos de los espacios mas nutridos de información de RD.
