Absolutely loved this tour. The ride there was even fun!! The open bus thru the mountains was beautiful. Our guide was very friendly and informative. The grounds were clean and beautiful. The monkey were very friendly. They sit on you shoulders and head!! You can bring camera and take pics. They also sell pics if interested. Then tour grounds explaining and sampling cocoa coffee etc. well worth trip!
The tour guide seemed to be annoyed at having to take us around and explain everything to us. But being able to have the monkeys jump all over was the cutest thing. Good pictures to come out of it. And the scenery on the mountains at the look out point is to die for. At least for some one who had never traveled over seas before.
This was a nice excursion. We were given a plate of fruit to feed the monkeys. They are not keen on being petted, but the will climb on you to get at the fruit in your hands. The grounds are calm and beautiful, especially on a beautiful day. I highly recommend this place.
Angel was our tour guide as well as JJ from the Transportation both guys were awesome very knowledgeable took the time to answer questions and indulge us about they're beautiful history. The tour also taught/showed us about many uses of coconuts, how coffee beans a harvest in roasted and showed a the inside of a typical Dominican house. I would highly recommended this event was an experience I will have for life. We took many pictures and the monkey's almost seem to pose for them they're extremely Interactive. We had the best time ever don't miss out you need to go!
Tour is short, but well managed. You get a bowl of fruit and veggies to hold, which draws the monkeys right to you. I was especially impressed with how focused they are on the health and safety, both of monkeys and guests. Because peanuts are key in the monkeys' diet, you cannot enter if you have a peanut allergy - this should be made more clear when booking (before paying and the long drive).
If you like monkeys you will like this place. You get up close and personal with spider monkeys. They jump on you and eat fruit from a bowl that you are given.
visit this place! getting there is a bit of a bumpy ride but the pay off is worth it. the guides are funny and friendly. the monkeys are adorable. at the end you try some chocolate and coffee and coconut oil. great time!
follow papa!
An absolutely amazing experience. Having dozens of tiny squirrel monkeys jumping on you is an unforgettable experience. The caretakers truly look out for the animals' best interests and the location is absolutely picturesque. Probably the highlight of our trip.
Amazing little attraction. The guides were very good at talking about the squirrel monkeys. We had a wonderful time interacting with and feeding the little beasties, and have some great photos.
Awesome experience, i thought it was going to be one or two zip lines, much to my surprise it was twelve in all & each one got longer & higher, so plan on doing some hiking.
The staff was very professional and assisted you every step of the way. Wear tennis shoes "NOT" sandels & drink plenty of water which they will supply for you, you will regret it if you don't.
My next visit here i will make it one of my first Excursions
Had a great experience at Monkeyland! You could tell Phillip was informative and cared for the animals. The stop where they showed us the coffee process and coconut oil was a nice bonus too! The bus ride was rocky, but it was nice to see the countrysiide, Definitely recommend while in the area!🐒🐒🐒🐒😄
Just returned from Monkeyland and it was by far the highlight of our week long trip! Our guide Philip was informative and took great photos. I would go again in a heartbeat and recommend to anyone!
AWESOME EXCURSION! The monkeys were adorable and the staff were professional and fun. The tour after was amazing and left us feeling like we learned something new. You get to experience some of the Dominican Republic culture by site, sound, and taste! Highly recommend
What an awesome experience!! I can't explain how much fun it was. Went with family on an excursion from the Carnival Vista and we all enjoyed it. Wish we had more time. Philip was our guide, and he was so knowledgeable and nice. This excursion is good for all ages. Will do this again in a heartbeat! Thank you so much for the experience Monkeyland!!!
Monkey land was great! The monkeys were very friendly and everyone in our group got to get up close and personal with them. The guides were great and super friendly. We did Monkey land along with Zip lining and the tour of how cocoa, Coffee beans, and coconut oil is made and it was great value and a must see experience. Can't say enough good things about it all!!!
Our travel agent set this excursion up for us. She had enjoyed it as well. It is apart of the zip line excursion. (Which was awesome) after the zip line they take you to monkey land. It is 45 minutes of these little monkeys climbing all over you. One thing to keep in mind. If you have a cold or if you smoke, you cannot go in the monkey enclosure. They are very conscious of human ailments which the monkeys can contract and wipe them out. They give everyone a bowl of food. That's when the fun starts. These little guys are everywhere and come out of the trees. At one point I had 4 or five on me. The monkeys are picky and may dump your food looking for what they want. You would do well by retrieving what they throw out. It prolongs them climbing on you. As any animal though. Once they get full, they pee and on one occasion poop. It was on a mets fan so all is well. If there was a Con, it was in the final station of the excursion. They set you down like a time share presentation and try to sell there brand of local goods by acting like it's an educational speech 1/2 hour 45 mins. All in all it's a great time. You even get lunch, which was great.
PJ was a great guide and made the excursion better. All the staff was knowledgeable. The monkeys were gentle and loved climbing all over you. Great photo ops with the monkeys and scenery.
learning about Dominican life was interesting and seeing cocoa and coffee being made was great.
We would do it again in a heart beat.
Lovedddd the monkeys! We had a great time here!
Great time at the Sanctuary and the team then takes you on a tour of how cocoa, vanilla and coffee beans are harvested and sold locally. Excellent value, including the ride in the cattle cars up the mountain. Our guide, Nacho, was very entertaining and spoke at least 3 languages.
Ziplining was super- excellent for first timers and the staff were very friendly. Our guide was like having our own personal guided tour all the way from the hotel pick ups. He explained everything along the way and ensured we had a marvelous day. I have allergies and he ensured my safety all throughout the day. He explained to us not to use sun screen or bug lotion as the monkeys would not come to us afterwards. Others were not given that bit of information and didn't have as much attention as our group. The photos they take are fantastic and very affordable. Highly recommend this excursion.
Who doesn't love monkey's? Clean and straightforward, but I wish I had more food and time to spend with the monkeys.
Monkeyland is well worth the price of admission. It's perfect for people who want to bring back some great pictures and videos of their excursion because you're bound to have monkeys crawling and jumping all over you. You get to feed and view them, but there is no touching per park rules. Just be aware of this if you plan to bring small children. The guides were very knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had. If they had been a bit more upbeat, along with the excursion lasting longer than 40 minutes, it would have been 5 stars for sure!
