no complaints. Favourite parts - the gourmet restaurant, foam party, endless supply of nachos. lots of sitting area around the pool with umbrellas. Room was very nice and clean - air conditioning worked really well. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Would definitely book again!

This resort is nothing like the other chains. This is for the retired and infirm. The pools close at 6:30 and it's quite time after 9 PM. Oh and this is on the Adult side. Even after 11 pm. PM. Front desk turns out the lights. The rooms have poor ventilation and have a musty smell. It was so bad I had to change rooms due to my allergies. The mini bar was not restocked every day and room service ends at 11. Simply a ghost town.
If you have a pulse this resort is NOT for you.

    This place was absolutely phenomenal!!
My husband and I traveled at the end of February for our honeymoon and felt right at home. The bar tending staff and the wait staff was amazing. Carlos the bartender by the pool was absolutely remarkable. And our butler Javier was truly amazing and accommodating in every way. I would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone!!!

Most enjoyable vacation at this Resort. Weather was great, sun & hot every day. This was our 3rd. stay at a Bahia Principe Resort, the others being the Amber and Sian Khan. This is a smaller resort, with everything within short walking distance. The beach is not as nice as the other resorts. We used water shoes when entering the water at the beach as the bottom is somewhat rocky, but fine with water shoes. The ocean water is cloudy, due to a River emptying into it, however, there is no health problem. The staff was very friendly & helpful, and the food was very good. The Don Pablo Gourmet Restaurant is a must. Get your reservations as soon as you arrive, as they are sometimes hard to get. Overall, this was a very nice Resort and we had a Great Vacation. Highly recommended.

Sergio and carlos are the best bartenders!! They are super friendly, nice and make great drinks! Chocolate and cappuccino are hilarious and make the trip a good time. The guy who brought in our luggage is also super great. He always ask us how we are and if we needed anything. Great stay!

Great spot but a few flaws - The resort is beautiful with a wonderful staff. The down side is the water at the beach, it is always murky because of the river next to it. The sand is nice and staff keep it raked and clear of debris. Food is very average with some good offerings and generally the wait staff is slow to react. Rooms and grounds are kept spotless. All in all we had a great time here but can only rate the hotel as a 4 star because of the restaurants. The Don Pablo was by far the best food and service but book early.

Where do I begin?.my first all inclusive experience was nothing short of excellent! The facilities are gorgeous and clean. The staff, Cappuccino, Fausto my Butler and the entire staff here are wonderful. Everyone here seems to be happy at what they do and truly seem to enjoy themselves. They are extremely tentative to all the guests. Food..not one single thing bad to say. We truly enjoyed all the meals here. We also enjoyed the entertainment they provide! Speaking spanish or French is a bonus but not necessary. We had a great time!

Thank you for a wonderful week, we enjoyed every moment of it, we were taken care of very well & we found the service all over BAHIA PRINCIPE BOUGANVILLE exceptionally good. The gardens were beautiful & very well kept, the food service and the abundant food with so many choices including all kinds of meats, poultry and fantastic seafood was great.& The Luxury suite was large, very comfortable & always kept very clean.& We loved having so many umbrellas all over the pool & the beach which was great since you never had to wonder where you could sit.& We will definitely come back again. Thanks to all the employees of the Bahia Principe Bouganville, we had a great week.

What a wonderful resort with amazing people! Fausto was amazing and had such attention to detail and to our needs! Sergio, Antonio and Anthony were so good and always had smiles for us and great service. Diana, Chocolate and Cappuccino always came by to make sure we were on our feet dancing! Overall, the food was top notch (endless lobster for valentine's day?!?) and the people made the vacation perfect!

The hotel setting is beautiful. All of it is amazing but what makes this place extremely great and sets itself apart is the staff. From the lobby to entertainment entertainment to cleaning. Jocelyn, Jose Abel Hector and all are beautiful warm hearted staff. Loved it.

I just came back from visiting this resort for a long weekend. I did like the resort, however there were a few things that did bother me during my stay. The AC in our room did not work, when we called the front desk to let them know a serviceman came, took out the filter and changed the filter. The AC still was not working after this. We then did not have hot water in our shower numerous time and the weirdest was that house keeping refilled our already drank water bottles and put them back into the fridge. The Pool was amazing! the French restaurant was Amazing!! If you are going for the beach, this is not the resort for you. However the staff was really nice !

What can I say, absolutely beautiful resort!!!

From the staff, food, rooms, attention to detail excellent all around.

Special shout out to the entertainment staff - Marlin, Gabriel, Joselin, Geyson, who just smiled the whole time. Thank you for welcoming us and becoming part of our family.

Another waitress in the lobby bar such a sweet and lovely person. Please make sure to ask for her - Gabriella.

Restaurants at the resort some of the best.

Overall you will not go hungry.

My family and myself are time share owners so that speaks volumes how we feel about Bahia.

Once again. Thank you for everything and would not hesitate to come back.

    Best,

    Patricia

This was the biggest, most lavish resort I have ever stayed on. There are shops right on the property, a club, a casino, and so much more. The staff was phenomenal and they took such good care of us. We didn't have to lift a single finger while we were on vacation. They keep the property so nice and clean, which was nice. There are areas to accommodate everyone; a party pool and a quiet pool, smoking areas, non smoking areas, and no children were allowed on this side of the resort. Beautiful place to stay. We only had 2 problems on this stay and that was just that we did not enjoy the food that much and our beds were extremely hard. Other than that, we would definitely stay here again!

Overall the luxury resort is phenomenal. The only thing is I wouldn't list it as five star hotel. I'm comparing it to other five star hotels with over the top service and selection of food not as wide. Butler service is absolutely non existent. We only wanted to use the service to have a la carte restaurants booked for us as it mentions in the in room booklet but our butler advised us to book ourselves at guest services. We also ordered coffee one morning and never received it. So we just stopped using the service.

Rooms are beautiful and are better then most five star hotels. TV in our room sucked because of satellite goes in and out. All in all though your only really using your room to sleep and clean yourself up.

Had a few days were room was not cleaned as well. Due to the maid not being able to get in. The door mechanism wouldn't let her in. I don't get why she wouldn't just tell someone to fix it the first day she couldn't get in. I can't really be upset though. Maid saw us going to the room the second day and ran to us to explain why she hadn't cleaned our room as of yet. We let her in and she cleaned. Also guest services apologized. The we're accountable so that's why I didn't get upset.

Big question would we come back. Yes we would.

Don't let the beautiful pictures fool you..BOOK ANOTHER HOTEL. I am currently sitting in my room right now at what claims to be a "five star" hotel writing this review because I don't want you to be fooled by the great reviews like I was. When booking this hotel the only thing i knew about it was the reviews I read which sounded wonderful. The only thing that is wonderful is the wait staff, they are so pleasant. Upper management is awful (we dealt with manager Maria). Unfortunately, we were unlucky enough to be put in a Jr. luxury king bed suite that had multiple things go wrong the very first day. Although they seemed like little problems at the time after all the time we spent calling the front desk, going down to guest services it seemed like our vacation was never going to begin. These problems included things like wet towels pool towels in our bathroom when we arrived, the safe locked us out with our stuff in it, the shower was leaking, the TV picture cuts out on the 3 English speaking channels they offer, there were old coffee grinds left in the coffee maker from before we even arrived, the fridge didn't work. After trying to fix all these things they gave us the option to either bring a new fridge up to the room OR we could be "upgraded" to an ocean front room (which when we booked we were already supposed to have an ocean front room, but no ocean to be seen, just heard) That sounded like a nicer option so we took it. This supposed upgrade was 2 queen beds , which really was disappointing seeing we are on our honeymoon. This is our 4th day on vacation now and we have spent more time at the guest services desk then out by the pool or beach. I'd rather have stayed home, it would have been much more relaxing. The only thing they have offered to us is to comp an excursion in which we already went on the previous day. If I could I would go home today, however we are stuck here until Saturday (April 29th). I never thought I would actually rather go home then stay on a beautiful island. If you book with this hotel you are taking a BIG risk of not having a nice vacation and who wants to waist their time or money.

So about a week ago me and my wife stayed at the Luxury Bahia Principe Samana Don Pablo Collection, in Samana – Dominican Republic. Our experience was great for the most part. staff was friendly, the food was great and the atmosphere overall was good.
It was so good that we became members of the Bahia privilege club, but who knew that was a mistake because my wife provide them
With her credit card and someone from the resort used my wife credit card and when on a shopping spree. They purchased over $600.00 worth of products online and now we're left with trying to figure this out by ourselves. Please for everyone who read this DON'T give out your credit card information
Because we've been trying to get this issue resolved with the resort and everyone is so rude, no one what's to help. And I can guarantee that there won't be a next time because we will not go back there.
