I had fun and the tour was very educational. I got a cigar to smoke on the tour and after they show you the cigar rolling they take you to a gift shop to buy cigars and they also have chocolate, rum and coffee.

    great cigars, interesting visit

The Don Lucas Cigar factory tour was a great way to spent a couple of hours. They provide free round trip transportation from your hotel, (Tip not expected but appreciated) an excellent way to get high quality cigars, rum, coffee and chocolate.

Great adventure! I never really have any thought to how cigars were made! Super fun!

They sent a van to pick us up from resort and drove us to their facility (about 25 minutes from Cap Cana). They gave me a cigar to smoke during the tour (full body maduro, not for the faint of heart) which was very good. They taught us about cigar rolling and we were able to watch some cigars be made. Then we passed through a gift shop (cigar smoking allowed everywhere on site) and into their humidor where they had Don Lucas cigars along with other major brands including Cubans (if that’s your thing). Don Lucas brand were reasonably priced, but other brands were a considerably mark up from US prices. After that was rum tasting, then chocolate and coffee tasting. Unfortunately our van also picked up some weinies who didn’t like cigars and rushed through everything so we did not get to sample the coffee or chocolate but no doubt it was very good as well. We had the sweetest guide who recently immigrated from Germany. I recommend picking up some Don Lucas cigars there since resorts seem to only sell super bad knock-off Cubans and Don Lucas are a much higher quality. Overall the trip should take about 3 hours round trip and is a nice little excursion from the resorts. I’m smoking one of their cigars fresh from my humidor right now and it’s still quite delightful!

Interesting to see the process. Definitely worth the trip. Would go again. Reasonable prices for the quality. Free shuttle booked on their website, on time and fast.

Decent place if you're just looking for cigars. Staff was very accommodating and there was a wide variety of options. Be aware that there is a 3% tax on credit card purchases.

Seamed to be a scam! Do not take 'Free shuttle" they made us almost an hour PAST the pick up time we where told! Redickules and unacceptable. Edit: others don't seem to have the same experience as we did maybe just an off day or a driver told us wrong.

Nice little place to experience how they make cigars, chocolate, and a gift shop with all kinds of things. A free cigar is offered during the tour along with complementary chocolate and rum tasting. Overall, worth checking out.

Had an excellent tour at Don Lucas. From watching the gentlemen roll cigars, rum tasting, coffee shop, jewelry store, and a chocolate factory.

They picked my wife and I up from our resort (Excellence El Carmen) at no charge and we had a personal tour guide (Flavio) who walked us around to each building.

Definitely worth the vist if you are in the Punta Cana area.

Una piccola fabbrica del sigaro, dove si può ammirare come vengono composti. E' posta all'interno di una struttura molto interessante, comprensiva anche di un piccolo museo del cioccolato e del caffe.

No.. No.. No.. Was there on vacation two weeks ago, picked up a few things, from the cigar room upstairs, among them was a small tin of Cuban cigars, today I decided to try one.. I cut the paper seal, and opened the box, much to my surprise all the cigar's inside had holes eatin threw them, and the box was infested with small brown bugs!!! These bugs looked like some kind of small beetle's and were still very much alive. Be warned!!! Check your products, not impressed at all, they give you a nice speach and tour, and take you to this nice sealed room and sell you bugs.

I haven't smoked many brands of cigars but what I did buy and have savored has been very enjoyable. I bought the Robusto Sampler and now I wish I had stocked up on more of these puros. If you go on vacation to Punta Cana definitely go on the shopping trip which is free to go on. This shop has many different brands of great cigars.
