If you are used to US standards for hotel accommodations, this is not a place for you. First, do not come early, they will charge a hefty amount to check-in early. Second if you book a regular room you will not get the best treament, instead you will be told many, many restrictions. Third, for a three day weekend they scored perfect having something missing in the room, everything looked awfully ractioned. This hotel is in just the low level of average, not bad not good either

Really enjoyed my stay and the highlight was definitely the pool besides cleanliness of my room. Security could be overburdening at times but guess it’s a good thing ..just feel like they were always looking over my shoulders

Barcelo Hotel in Santo Domingo is a good choice if you want to be close to every posible place in the city. Right across from the Metro station and a few blocks away from hospitals, the theather, several museums, banks and everything you might need. It is not a luxury hotel but it is clean and confortable.

Not enough of the staff speak English and those at the front desk were unable to find a reservation due to a lack of English. It is near a busy street, so there is a lot of road nice while sleeping. The building and rooms were in good repair.

Good place to stay in, good for businesses meetings and events. And the rooms have newly renovated. Parking can be a problem. Other than that it's good to visit and spend the night close to city clubs and other city attractions.

Perfectly comfortable and excellent staff. My husband was very sick when we arrived and they arraigned for medicine to be delivered directly to our hotel room door! The beds are comfy and the amenities very practical. Love the shoe polishers everywhere, too!

This is an awesome hotel. The staff are wonderful and the rooms are great. The food in the restaurant here is also very wonderful. Cris, Who was one of the staff at the front desk was just awesome and went out of her way to help me when I needed it. I will definitely come back to this hotel to stay again.

We use one of the conference rooms: Everything on time, the food was really good, service was ok, nice conference room. The only thing was that the electricity went was a few times. But Overall was good.

One of the best hotels I had stay in. The room was very comfortable and the housekeeping staff what great. The all you can eat buffet was out of this world. The pool was beautiful and clean and it even had a kids pool too. I highly recommend the Hotel Barcelo for you stay in Santo Domingo.

Great hotel for a quick trip to Santo Domingo. The superior club premium room give you access to a private area with unlimited beer and soft drinks during day time.
