We have been here twice now an it's a lovely place but could do with doing up a little ,staff are very helpful. You never go hungry, there is always food available but don't forget to book the restaurants the first few days you get there otherwise you won't get a table (That's if you want to go to the restaurants )

Very nice place. Great if you looking for some peace and quiet. Service is great. Hotel showing signs of age. Only bad thing is can't get internet through out the resort. Only in certain places. Friendliness of staff makes up for a lot of the short comings.

This resort was amazing. Nightlife is probably the best. Then comes the food! Pool was awesome but need to step up activities with people.

They have so many activities for adults and children. I stayed in a suite and it was amazing. Good service. I loved their buffets not their restaurants!

Fantastic resort. The only hotel on this beach! Service and food are good. The kids club and entertainment crew are great! Perfect resort for young and old.

Great price for what you get. Room was always clean, mini fridge was always stocked up, and food was pretty good. The kids club was pretty handy running from 9-5 and the entertainment crews kept things going around the main pool most of the day. Five stars because they checked us into our rooms on the bus ride there after stopping for beers!

Older resort. Very clean. Friendly helpful staff. Far from any big towns. Rooms and facilities comfortable. Downside is long drive to airport and food can only be rated average

Excellent food, restaurants and services. Lots of daily activities. Great drink selections. 1 hour free kayak and non-motorized boat rentals. Small rooms but great view of the ocean.

The staff was so incompetent. They kept forgetting our drinks. And when they didn't they took forever to bring them. At the club the DJ kept messing up. We went to ask if he could put a song and there was a women on his lap. He said he would put the song. But 5 songs later he still didint, the music also kept failing. We went there again and the women was now on the DJ desk. And he was making out with her..like seriously.i seriously do not recommend. Go to other hotelsthere are way better ones the. This one

Fantastic staff. All very friendly. Good trips available. Snorkeling a must. Very clean and an extensive choice of food. Has a Japanese, Italian and Mediterranean restaurants. Looks very clean and enough shade to retreat from the midday sun. 🍹🌴☀

I really like the people here and the accommodations. The pools are nice and the beach is incredibly peaceful, it does not have any annoying waves. They also have many pool and beach activities. I did not like the food, sometimes it's a bit hard and lacking seasoning; however, they have a lot of variety and you can never go wrong with pasta, pizza or burgers. The drinks are good. The night club is nice but the DJ doesn't seem to be very experienced.

Overall we were satisfied with our stay. Our location close to the buffet and main pool was ideal given my wife's limiter mobility.
Our room was clean and well maintained. The fridge was stocked daily with water, some soda, and Coors Light. The time in which the cleaning happened was a bit inconsistent. While it was cleaned every day, the time in which this occurred fluctuated.
The food was as to be expected, and generally I would consider average. During the weekend, with the influx of locals the buffet was exceptionally busy and staff struggled to keep it stocked.
The staff were generally very positive and helpful. The first few days at the resort the time share sales staff would try to trap us into talking but when turned down, they were not too pushy.
The kids club was great and along with the mini disco our kids had an amazing time. The staff in the kids club were the highlight of our entire stay.
The pools were a bit gross first thing in the morning. Due to dozens of discarded plastic cups from the prior evening's drinking, it was a bit messy, but very quiet still.
The biggest negative of the whole trip was the presence of S Trips. S Trips, geared towards high school students had over 100 students at the resort during our stay. Throughout this time S Trip reserved parts of the beach, pools, bars, and seating areas in the restaurants. The high risk behaviour I witnessed from these students was mind boggling. Kids were lured off resort to buy booze which they could not get on resort. Kids would smuggle drinks to minors, or when all else failed, teen girls would flirt with staff or other guests to get booze for them. The behaviour that both S Trip and Grande Bahia staff turned a blind eye to was troubling and guaranteed that neither of my kids would be allowed on these trips.
We booked our stay with Air Canada Vacations and unfortunately we never managed to make contact with their employee on the resort (they were never there). However staff from Air Transat and other vacation companies were easily located.
All in all we had an enjoyable time. For the price we paid, $2500CAD for 2 adults and 2 Kids, it was a great value. I don't think I would stay for any more than that, nor do I think I'd visit this exact resort again, but we would consider Grande Bahia again.response / report this review -

Service is very good. Did not have any single problem. We stay at privileged club. If room is close to main pool, will be very noisy. Even resort need some investment, all staff is trying very good to make your day. Resort doing renovations in some buildings. Yes sand bugs on beach is biting, but with orange scented oil, which you can get at resort spa you can keep bugs away. Food is OK.

Worst resort. Do not even consider going.
When we went. The front desk is so dis÷organised, it took a very long time to I'm Uncheck in. You could tell everyone trying to check in were feeling the same anguish. When we finally got to our room after waiting more than 2 hours, the bathroom toilet had not only piss, but also this brown stuff and hair on the toilet seat. The food at the buffet was not only the same every day but it was horrible. The main swimming pool had green agae growing on the sides. The bar at the pool was also under staffed, we were not the only vacationers upset about about this.
The only good thing about this resort was the nightly entertainment was really good.
But overall, not worth the money to stay at this resort.. I would give zero stars if it were an option.response / report this review -

Don't waste your money on this place. First off, it's an hour and a half away from the airport. Second the air conditioner didn't work, it was cooler outside than in the room. Third a woman's ring for stolen off of her dresser. Lastly, a couple that we met at the resort got their entire safe stolen. Someone took the safe out of their room put it in the couples suitcase and left with it. In the safe was everything, they had their passports, I'd, money, cellphones, etc. They went to the front desk, they blamed everything on them. The general manager didn't have the decency to even step out of her office to talk to the couple. Now they don't have their passport, or money to get a new passport, so they needed more time to get their stuff together. The hotel refused to allow them to stay a little longer, nope, instead they told them they have to find their own way home and pay if they want to stay at the hotel longer. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS PLACE!! Go to a different hotel.

Went an stayed at the Principe Grand Bahia Tulum Maya Rivera Mexico. Beautiful Place the staff is awesome very family like. Can't say enough good stuff about the place. Jordan in the Silver factory in a awesome individual Amazing timecan't wait to go back this summer!!!

had a good time, staff ok at times Got sick my last day & night there or was it a laxative snuck in on me by the snorkling crew a big jug of twigs and wine (Beware!). had a horrible night that night other than that, I had to say it was ok. lasting memories were running to the bathroom every 20 minutes, and finally vomiting at 5am just in time to catch the van back to the airport at 6am My trip was fine until I went snorkling. 1/15/15 - 1/19/15
