My time here was so wonderful and great. I enjoyed every little bit of it. Throwing down myself down the holes and landing inside the water is the fun part. The person that guides us was very lovely and he always concern of our safety measures which we all liked. The climbing of the hills is amother fun part of the trip. This is combining fun with exercise and later refresh yourself by throwing yourself in the water. I enjoyed it. Planning to go back again.

I went there as a day trip with ATA excursions. It's a fun excursion - just ensure the ones who will be taking that trip with you are not scared too much as it will slow down the group pretty much and limit the fun of it. Foreigners pay a little bit extra, but that's okay.

You will be approached by somebody offering you a photographer service upon entry and if you are in a bigger group it might make sense to get a personal photographer, which will be RD$ 2695 - otherwise I would just wait until the group is being set and see if you can get a better deal; locals tend to wait till the first waterfall and ask a photographer to take the pictures with their very own cameras for a "tip".

As for shoes, you do need closed shoes - I recommend bringing your own water shoes which will be more comfortable. You may also rent ones there, but they weren't very comfortable walking on stones, etc.

This was the highlight of our trip! It is a must do. The hike/canyon was beautiful, and jumping/sliding down the many waterfalls was an adventure I will not soon forget. It's a decent hike, and some of the jumps are intense, so probably not for the faint of heart

AMAZING!!!!! Worth every penny. Water is cold and could be a shock. However, you get over it quick. As long as you follow the safety advice and don't do anything stupid, you are fine. Many of the falls you can slide or jump! I guarantee you will love it !!!!

This was easily my favorite thing that I did during my month in the DR, and also the most terrifying. Involves leaping from cliffs up to 25 feet and sliding down waterfalls, albeit with a helmet and life vest. Great way to spend a hot day. Exciting and fun but good to have some swimming experience. Guides are tremendously helpful and make the experience feel safe and professional. Would recommend bringing a disposable water bottle on the hike up as this part can get very hot and the guides will collect your trash at the end of the hike.

Save some dough and drive to
Damajagua instead of taking an overpriced tour. They supply guides with the 300 peso admission. Opt for all 27 waterfalls. Don't forget to bring tip money for the guides. The trip is nice and the scenery is great. Nothing crazy and there are plan b options for those afraid of heights.

Warning, if you CANNOT swim, DO NOT come here. This isnt only a scenic hike, but also lots of jumping and sliding into waterfalls. Some are avoidable, some are not. You will only visit about 12 waterfalls, not all 27. If you cannot swim, you will be drinking a lot of water with bacteria in it. If you can swim, you will enjoy this.

Excellent time and would recommend. If in shape for a good hike.
My wife and I hiked the trail to the top for the 27 water falls. I was the oldest I had seen that day. Don’t be scared off. There are a few places with benches to stop and catch your breath. If you hire a photographer you will be stopping more often for pictures. Our main tour guide goes by the name of Flaco. Okay English. Our group spoke primarily Spanish! We had people from Chile, New York, and the Ukraine. We passed several groups. Very exciting. No time to think on some of the jumps. Oh. Don’t wear a hat and bring sunglasses like we did. Watch loose jewelry as well. There are lockers for $2 or the taxi driver can hold these things. We hired our driver inside the gates from Carnival port Edwin. We booked on our own as well. Tipped falls guide $20 and it was well worth it. Purchase the meal afterwards to and try authentic food. Driver stopped at a place for cigars a couple of minutes off main road on way back.
Couldn’t stop talking about how fun this was. My wife didn’t jump at the highest one and took the ladder which she later regretted.

A must do if you are in Puerto Plata. Fantastic fun and for those that don't like heights you can walk down the bigger falls

This place is awesome, not for old people or out of shape people who cannot hike!
If you come from the cruise port in Amber cove dont pay a taxi. Simply walk out of the port past all the taxis and go to the main road and flag down a local bus, cost is $2.50 US one way per person!
Fun place, one of the falls is about 8-9 meters. You can by pass the high jumps if you want.

You need to do this if you're in the north Dominican. We were teamed up with a personal guide who didn't speak a lot of English but still managed to explain how to conquer the falls. Doing the falls was cheap (550 pesos/person + tip) and took less time than anticipated. If you're a small group you should do the full 27 falls, it takes 2-3h. The guide let us go again on some of the jumps/slides. This is a great experience!

This was the BEST day of my life. From out Resort, it was over an hour ride through the city and across the country land. It was the most amazing drive we saw and learned so much on the way. You will most likely stop at a place called " CAFETERIA LOS ARTESANOS " to see how the hot chocolate and coffee is made and try a sample. I would strongly recommend that you purchase it form here ( You can leave all you personal belongings in the truck that is locked) When you arrive you get your life jacket and helmet and start to hike up towards the water fall. The guides help you and make sure you are safe and explain everything to the best of their ability. I am very afraid of heights but i was able to do the jumps and slide down the falls thanks to their encouragement. The food after was excellent ! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone vising The Dominican.

We arrived on the Carnival Magic and didn't book the waterfall excursion through the cruise line. To save money we took a cab (van) that fit all 8 of us from within Amber Cove. Keep in mind that the cab company pays to be inside the gates of Carnival's exclusive port. We paid $140 (when you return to port)for the driver for all day. He drove us to Damajaguas Waterfalls, locked our personal belongings in the van, and waited on us. I speak Spanish and Wady Tavares was a very nice young man driving our cab. I had no worries our belongings would be safe plus he doesn't collect his fare until he drops you back off at the cruise port. We did 7 waterfalls which was plenty for our kids. Cost was $11 US each, no reservations are needed. Bring old tennis shoes for sure! The waterfall excursion was amazing, hands down. One lady & her 2 kids from our ship went outside the cruise line security gate and hailed a cab for $40 to the waterfalls & she made it back safely. We basically did this excursion for all 8 of us for the cost of 2 people, if booked through Carnival. Also, don't forget to tip the waterfall guides. They truly rely on tips and will keep everyone safe. We had kids from 5th grade up and all enjoyed it! Some jumped, some slid, and some chose to ladder their way down the waterfalls. Try it!

We had a wonderful time on this excursion but giving 1 star because we bought the pictures and the USB drive we were given had another group. I have emailed and called several times and haven't been able to get a response. All we want are the pictures we paid for.

Huge fun. Did all 27 and any more would have been too much. The lunch afterwards was also one of the best meals we had all week.

Super day! Clear and warm water. Good guide and equipment. Lots of fun. Escape route if the jump is too high. Delicious lunch. Good organization and not expensive!
    Go for it!!!

We had a blast sliding and jumping down into the cool clear water. Since we came from the cruise ship, we only had time to do 12 of the 27 falls. We had 2 great guides that helped us slide and jump safely on some of the more challenging falls. The falls and the backdrop are absolutely stunning. Admission with guides costs only $9 per person plus $5 more for a nice local buffet lunch. Tip the guides well as they work hard taking pictures/videos for you and entertaining you while ensuring your safety. It's a great and tiring hike up the hill before you are rewarded with some of the best waterfalls and scenery nature will provide. A must visit but you should be relatively fit and adventurous. All of us agreed that this is the best excursion from our 7 day cruise.

That was the most exciting and fun experience I have ever had. I had the best guide I could have hoped for. He showed me many other specialties of the country as we hiked up to the top. I went last June and I am going again the middle of February. I trust the water is spring fed or there are enough rains in the mountains. The water was crystal clear. This was truly God made slide for us. It was awesome. I think I have talked my wife into going (she is not the outdoor type). I am also taking my new GoPro!

27 waterfalls in the beautiful countryside. At the beginning you get a vest and helmet and then the wizard will take you on a journey waterfalls. The water is not salty and pleasantly refreshing. All personal belongings you leave in your car and key give to the wizard. Super experience
