Even after the hurricane the Garraway Hotel still had a smile when ever I stayed with them, for me it made me felt welcome despite of the current situation in this country.
Due to the hurricane it was best considering the circumstances.
The room rate is very high compared to the quality of the room. The room is basic and there is no air con, hot water or even enough light.
Breakfast is horrible. It is very expencive containing only toast with jam and butter, watermelon which was not fresh and coffee. I could not drink my coffee, because it tasted like it had been made hours before. The bill of the breakfast was wrongly calculated and we had to calculate it many times to the waitress to avoid overcharcing.
I can not recommend this hotel. Most of the members of the staff are nice, though.
The staff is really nice and the room is kind of expensive considering that there is no hot water and no air conditioning. Plus, the room doesn't have a ceiling, only pieces here and there. Have to go to the lobby to use the WiFi, the elevator isn't repaired so we have to go up the stairs. Plus, ants are very aggressive and all in the room. No television eithertoo quiet and you hear nothing but traffic. Oh well live and learn.
Luckily, the staff did give a fan for the room to help with the heat. I do understand the situation of repairs needing to be done. But, I think that the price is really too much for the meantime.
Not optimal after hurricane Maria
Minimum-style hotel in Dominica. The room is spacious though for some rooms, the air conditioner doesn't work.
Nice place but accommodation sucks
Service was ok but the rooms are terrible
Very comfortable
Great to people watch basic hotel
Uncooperative staff. Huge prices
Friendly & comfortable
It is advertised as a business hotel and that's what it is. No distractions - not a place I'd suggest for the casual tourist looking to be entertained.
Pros:
- The staff is friendly and professional.
- Though not very modern, it is clean and comfortable.
- Quiet
- Continental breakfast is not extravagant, but suited me fine.
-Got a Harbour view room, was quiet nice on mornings.
Cons:
- Not sure if all rooms are like this but my room only had side lamps and the low light didn't suit me at night. Finding things in my bag meant dragging it towards the bathroom or front door, which had brighter light.
Bottomline:
It's a good enough hotel near most things in town (walking distance). In the least my stay was pleasant.
Awesome experience
