Very big museum with a wide range of art. From sculptures to paintings. And different eras. Interesting history review in one place.
The museum also has a small restaurant if you wish to eat or drink.
Classical building approx 150 years old, using massive granite and terracotta, for exterior. Interior also robust and very nice for a quite exhibition. Sculptures - mostly busts, from egypt and mediterranean
I spent nearly a whole day here. And had a great lunch in the elegant Palm Court. But found their hanging order baffling, and if it was meant to reveal something it didn't. The room layout is odd too. They have tried to control visitors and have destroyed the processional aspect of how you should of entered the galleries in a beautiful building.
My favorite place in Copenhagen. The building itself is stunning but the collections are even more stunning and bigger and more varied than you would expect. Especially if you appreciate sculptures, this is definitely a must-see
Good collection - relaxing atmosphere
The museums has a collection that vary from ancient to modern art. The facilities are very clean and you can find locker room where to keep your belonging while visiting. The staff it's welcoming and ticket price it's more than fair for such a great collection.
It's a correct museum if you like the style. But a lot of information on paintings and sculptures are missing. Some rooms introductions are only in danish.
A really nice peaceful building with some fantastic Egyptian artefacts. There is a lot to explore. The building is amazing and has a wonderful garden inside. My kids enjoyed it too.
Well worth a visit. Beautiful sculptures and an impressive collection of art and ancient objects. The "vinterträdgård" in the center is amazingly beautiful. Coffee at the cafe is alright. Perfect from a rainy day or as an activity before you leave Copenhagen since its very close to the train station.
The building is very appealing. The artwork was also good. The Danish painters were my favorite and I learned of a few new artists. The sculpture collections seemed pretty extensive, although I do not appreciate it enough. This museum is free on Tuesdays!
Very lovely place. I go here when I need somewhere calm and beautiful to read or write.
A lot of statue which is nice but too much. The picture here is soo good.
Worth visiting for the winter garden alone, but throw in a Van Gough, a few Degas and some Gauguin paintings, and some amazing Danish sculptures, well worth the visit, especially on Tuesday's as its free!
Only explored the first floor because I'm only on Copenhagen for two days but really great sculptures. A few rooms of Danish and French work and then I was really excited to see the Ancient Egyptian, Roman, and Greek work too. Lots to see and definitely worth a visit!
Not your ordinary museum! It's perfect for time alone or in company as it offers few hours of greatly chosen art. Prices are reasonable.
I'll definitely visit again.
