Amazing experience! This castle is just awe inspiring. We didn't expect it to as cool as it was. We didn't do any tours and I regret it a little bit, nevertheless exploring the Chambers and catecombs on our own was still very fun. We even saw a sleeping bag under the castle

This is castle is incredible. We visited when it opened at 11am so was very quiet and could walk around almost on our own.
I would recommend getting here 30 mins before opening to walk around the outside and take in the wonderful views.

A must see, as this is one of the biggest, best preserved outstanding European Renaissance castles. It was built in 1574. It’s an hour by train from Copenhagen. Both the train and castle are included in the Copenhagen Pass. Your entry includes up to three guided tours. The one at 1:30 was Great. I checked my luggage at the 7/11 at the train station and after the tour, spent the night in a nearby town to save money over Copenhagen hotel prices.

Beautiful, old castle with nice moat and surrounding areas to walk. The entrance fee is 140 DKK, which is a fair but a bit high price. Still there are lots to see and also a tower to get a great overview of the area. There were even actors giving plays right next to people all over the grounds. Underneath the castle are the cellars which are nice to explore with little light.

Epic towers, lovely moat, fun cannon fodder sound reenactment when entering castle. Beautiful courtyard and wonderful royalty quarters. Attended during Shakespeare festival weekend to find characters acting scenes from Hamlet periodically around the castle. The ending scene with the poison duo killings and sword duels was a marvelous effort. The view from the canon tower was the highlight of my trip.

Absolutely stunning castle - this was the inspiration for the setting of Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'. When my wife and I visited, we were fortunate enough to go on a lovely day where professional actors were performing scenes from Hamlet in the location in which they occurred in the play. The castle itself is massive and in excellent repair, the guides and staff very friendly and knowledgeable.

Very historic sight near the northern coast of Denmark. Easy to reach with public transport (although a sufficient amount of walking is required). Reduced entrance fees with Copenhagen card. Good location to take loads of photos. Excellent view from the top tower. Very nice and knowledgeable guides.

The best castle when I've been ever! Best known as Hamlet's castle. It has really good atmosphere, nice renaissance interiors. And the big plus is the Hamlet Live! Walking into the courtyard at Kronborg Castle will step right onto the set of Shakespeare's Hamlet. The actors in Hamlet Live speak English, but knowledge of English is not necessary for understanding the drama and to experience Hamlet Live.

The castle is magnificent! It's interesting that there is a small drama played by staffs in front of the entrance of the castle. Besides, it's just near the train station, and there is a street with some lovely stores. You can have a walk there.

Easy to access by train from Copenhagen. It is worth one day trip and it can be combined with the Louisiana museum which is on the same train line. The outside is really nice with great views . We were on Sunday Easter morning and there was cannon shooting which was cool!The external area is free instead it is necessary to buy a ticket to visit the castle inside. The rooms are a bit poor but the tower and the deep dark chambers are interesting.

We almost missed out on going here but we're urged to take the train ride up. It was included in the Copenhagen Card and did not disappoint. It's a beautiful castle with rich history. Be sure to climb the tower and also venture in the deep dark chambers underneath! You won't be disappointed.

Kronborg Castle is centuries of Danish history. You can visit almost the entire castle inside and out and come up close with interesting artifacts. The guides are extremely knowledgeable in facts about the castle and Danish history.

Great castle with lots of history and a great range of exhibits to view.
We did the Hamlet tour which we really enjoyed - it was very interesting and it was done with humour which make it highly enjoyable.
There are great views from the area as well and you can clearly see across to Sweden.response / report this review
