It certainly was UGLY!
I went to this "restaurant" with my family under the impression it would be good homely Danish food. From the name of the restaurant it sounded "hyggeligt" and the menu looked relatively good, how WRONG I was.
When my family and I entered, we weren't exactly greeted with a warm welcome, it felt old and dated and the decor looked like it hadn't been changed since Mr Andersen himself lived in Odense!
We were told we couldn't sit at the table we had chosen because the waitress hadn't cleaned it, so okay, she moved us to a dark corner
After ten minutes we finally got our drinks which had been forgotten Then we made our way to what they advertise as their "Danish buffet" which I can assure you is not a traditional Danish buffet.
The food was cold, bland, and had no care or presentation given to it at all.
I took a piece of fish fillet and sat back in the dark corner were we had been placed, cut my fish, took a piece to my mouth, and then had the pleasure of pulling out a hair..
I informed the waitress of this but she didn't seem to care.
So, I try one more time to get a nice piece of Danish fish, but could I? No, not only once did I pull out a hair, but TWICE! The second fish had another piece of hair wrapped around it! It was disgusting!
That was it, I put down my knife and fork and I said to my family we were no longer to eat this dreadful food. It felt unhygienic and dirty and I couldn't bare to take another bite!
When I informed the waiter of this he said nothing to it, not even an apology!
We got up to leave and told the waitress we would not be paying and she was not happy! She made us pay for drinks that were watered down and didn't even have the decency to give us an apology for the treatment we received in the restaurant.
She told me that "This is how it is in Denmark" I informed her I am Danish and I'm afraid that isn't true. I have eaten excellent Danish cuisine with excellent standards.
A VERY VERY rude waitress to go with a very very poor service!
I left, and I can truly tell all customers who consider going here to PLEASE not waste your money! It is far too good for a place that have no standards.
A dreadful experience and you won't be getting a happy ending.response / report this review -

Cibo a buffet a prezzi ragionevoli rispetto alle standard danese. Siamo stati qui con figli ed amici e l'esperienza è vincente. Prezzo fisso e cibo buono! Da provare

Maden smagte udmærket, og servicen var fantastisk taget i betragtning hvor mange gange vi ændrede i vores reservation.. Dog kunne jeg godt have tænkt mig flere valgmuligheder i forhold til buffeten

Et fantastisk sted ! Jeg fejrede min 70 års fødselsdag på Den Grimme Ælling i går.
Lækker buffet! Der var rigeligt af mad.
Fik et dejligt lokale at være i. Super betjening !
God atmosfære.
