Always love visiting here. The new interactive features of the modern history section are amazing and make the experience fun for people of all ages. The bakery in the old section never fails to serve a wonderful selection of traditional sweets and the Christmas market is a great place to pick up gifts and decorations.

Very nice place with atmosphere of the past centuries and last decades. There are not only displays and expositions that give an idea how people lived, but real people who are in engaged in all sorts of activities from knitting to cooking. While we were there, the ladies offered us cup of coffee with pancakes, were very friendlly, and described how life looked like in the past.

Loved this place. It was quiet and otherworldly at first but got very busy. Some of the staff were not welcoming or friendlythe needed a kick up the ass to remind them that jobs can be given and taken.
The bakery cafe was fabulous. You go order your tea/coffee and pastries first, pay and they are brought to your table.
Lots of photos opportunities!!
Lots of plants, flowers and nice places to enjoy the wild flowers.

This is an amazing museum and well worth a visit. We spent just over three hours and only managed to see two thirds of it - there is so much to see. Being a child of the 1970s, it was absolutely fantastic to walk through my childhood and the 1970s section. Bring good, sensible shoes as you will mostly be walking on cobbles. Parking in the area can be difficult so you may want to use nearby Q-Park multi-storey or use public transport.

I actual used to work here as a guide and had a lot fun here. This museum is great and a must see if you are in the area. Beautiful old houses from all over the country were dismantled and restored on this location. Don't forget to check out the Living History!

I love this place. It's a real life living museum with so much to see. I have been here many times and always find something new. I particularly love the 70's exhibition because there is so much that even I can remember from my childhood. The new Aarhus exhibition is very interactive and a lot of fun, particularly for those with an interest in Aarhus. A great museum with something for all ages. 👍🏾

For the first time did I visit Den Gamle By I Århus. I was very impressed by everythingits such a peaceful and lovely place. Everyone working here is dressed like people were at that time. They also speak like people did then. There is a lot to see and enjoy. I was here for 6 wonderful hours. The cakes in the old bakery taste fantastic.

Wonderful open air museum; great recreation of a market town. There are many wonderful buildings to see. Most of the buildings were actually moved from various areas around the city to Den Gamble By, so you are experiencing the actual buildings of the past.

Den Gamble By was much larger than we expected. There was much to see and do; we spent most of the day here and we didn't quite see it all! If we are back in Aarhus, we will definitely come back and view the upcoming exhibits.

Ok open air museum. Not as nice as the one in Lyngby. The buildings are closer to each other, which makes it easier and quicker to explore. Price is reasonable, but most stores close on the winter so you basically just walk around and inside the houses. Staff was helpful when I needed an emergency kit.

Nice not bad. Will enjoy if u like the old days lifestyle how it was lived and how they moved around. There are horses available with many fun activities for kids and adults. Very nice

This historical village represents the life in Denmark about 200 years ago, I presume it was the era of Hans Christian Andersen. Very significant piece of history, plus a ton of fun. There are many old houses into which you can enter, each with its own story. I recommend visiting during Christmas time when you can really catch the magical spirit of the place.

Loving this place. Went in twice and still can't get enough of the charm of this open air museum. I love the fact that I can go in and out of the old building and see how people lives were like in the past. Weekend was the best when the old bakery was selling some good old Danish cookies and pastries and certain shops are open for businesses.
