Phenomenal zoo. The fact you can get so up close to some of the deadliest and most unusual animals on the planet is a great tick in the box for this place. The only zoo I've been to I could say it lacks behind is Berlin. But still a 10/10 place. Good price too

Family friendly city zoo. You can get to see the animals really close! Great place for children. The tropical climate area is really great for some extremely close-up butterfly and insect photography.

Absolutely stunning zoo. You can get so close to the animals and are almost unhindered. There are also many different kinds of animals. The merchandise available is quite nice. The only real drawback is the parking. I highly recommend coming here by train or bus instead!

Lovely zoo and you can get "up and close" to the animals. Some of the enclosures are a little small but it's very spacious for a city zoo and they've done a lot with the spaces and what animals they have.
Loved the animals and we managed to catch a feeding /talk of the bears which is one of the best I've seen yet (from my limited knowledge of Danish).
Boards/signs are available in Danish/ English and theres a bus outside the zoo so it's easy to get too.
There's a great addition of a petting zoo which I think was fantastic for kids. Lots of food options and places for kids to play.
Would definitely recommend on a trip to the city.response / report this review -

Absolutely stunning zoo, totally possible to see in 1.5 to 2 hours. Go at the end of the day if you don't want to be surrounded by loud children. One of the prettiest zoos I've ever seen!

I loved this zoo. They have a good selection of animals and wildlife. There's a lot of free learning through play for kids as well as petting animals. If you don't want to be taken aback by prices for snacks there are plenty of places to bring and eat your own lunch in front of the animals.

Nice compact zoo. High quality facilities. Be aware though that they charge you more than the ticket price when paying with credit card under the reason that your bank adds an additional charge. This is not true. They or their bank add an additional charge. And you only see that when pressing ok. Not a word on the extra charge. So at the entrance you already feel ripped off.

I felt it was made way too simple to feed the animals, which I saw a lot of. Animals aren't to eat human food for reasons I would like to believe are obvious, but it's clear that isn't common sense. The fences around the animals are way too low, I could have grabbed a penguin or otter if I wanted to. I felt the animals were in danger of humans pretty much at all times.
Overall, the zoo has good intentions and is VERY insightful, but it's attempts to intrigue people with their ability to get very close to the animals also puts the animals in danger.response / report this review -

Copenhagen Zoo gets better and better and it is amazing to see how animal welfare is a top priority in this Zoo. The African savanna is a great example of giving the animals a replica of their natural habitat. Soon construction work will begin for the new panda habitat and it's new residents moving in. If you think the ticket price is high, keep in mind that the Zoo is a self-owned institution fully relying on entrance fees and sponsorships.

The part of the zoo on the entrance side of the road seemed a little dated and the lion enclosure in particular looked a bit small. We preferred the farm-like exhibit on the other side of the road (through the tunnel) and the larger space afforded to the giraffes, zebras, and rhinos. Of course, it's still a zoo and we are not keen to see animals kept in captivity, but there was evidence of a good breeding programme.

I might be biased because I love zoos, but I LOVED this zoo. The entry price hurt but it was great once you just forgot about that. The animals are treated well and have nice and big cages. Some of which you can actually enter. They have the usual attractions like feeding shows but it's all well made. The diversity is great and almost everything is accessible with strollers and wheelchairs. The food is decent and one of my favorites things was the Ben and Jerry's ice stand 😍 and one thing that is super nice is the claw game machined where you always win a stuffed animal for just 20 DKK. ALWAYS. You can't lose. You get to try until you get one. And the quality is actually pretty good :) I really enjoyed the day there. It wasn't too packed but not too empty either, I got to get close to actual kangaroos and even their babies. Definitely a great place to go on a date with an animal fan or with your kids or just by yourself.

Not the best zoo I've ever been too and there are parts that could do with some love. The part for the lions looked so small and it was hard not to feel sorry for them but the smaller animals looked great- definitely find the penguins!
There's loads of great parks and seating around which in the summer would be lovely and the cafe to grab a bite in is well priced and tasty. You can also watch camels as you eat!
