The perfect weekend getaway, spa and walks in the forest with grand view of Vejle fjord, and magnificent old buildings from old sanatorium. Dogs are very welcome.

Absolute gem of a hotel. I have had the pleasure of staying here for a conference and found the facilities to be excellent. It is a really interesting location, steeped in history from its former life.

There is a spa on site and a restaurant. The grounds are beautiful, with a fjord just a short walk away. The staff are fabulous and extremely professional. The rooms are comfortable and spacious.

I highly recommend the Comwell Keller Park

Great choice for a relaxing weekend located on Vejle Fjord. The surrounding is peaceful and serene. Definitely recommend a stroll around and to the sea as well.
We stayed on a Saturday night, there was some conference/events going on. As a result most part of the hotel was crowded and noisy (except for the wing located near the spa). There were no parking spots left and after driving around for some time we managed to park middle way. On the plus side the parking is free.
Luckily the room was located in the quiet area near the spa which was very convenient to access the facilities. The spa was not crowded as I believe most of the guests of the hotel were attending the event. The outdoor hottubs are very nice especially late at night when one can relax under the stars.

The restaurants were almost full so we had dinner at a local restaurant by the water, which was well located and a short walk from the hotel. Breakfast is a Danish style buffet with decent choice of cheese. However it was super full and crowded and we barely managed to find a table. Nonetheless it was a decent breakfast.

All in all I recommend this hotel for a short getaway or a spa day. It might not be the most children friendly hotel as children under 12 are not allowed in the spa area. Therefore it is a good choice for adults looking for peace and quiet and a break.

It seems Saturday is the most popular and the most crowded, hence the most expensive. So if one is flexible with timing, Sunday would be a better choice.

    - A terrible experience, stay away. The restaurant was fully booked and could only offer a table if we ordered a 2 course dinner for the adults and two children! We asked for room service, they only offered a pizza that was served in a box with generic plastic knife and fork, a small paper napkin and no drinking glasses. Very high priced thou.

    - The hotel provided one small bottle of soap for three persons. I only managed to soap my arms. The shower had so low pressure that I only managed to rinse my left arm. We asked for an extra bed for our 11 year old girl. We were charged DKR500, regular price in Scandinavia for an extra bed is DKR200. Room and food is bad and very overpriced.

    - No children allowed in the hotel pool. We walked half a mile to the sea and took a bath. The water temperature around 9 Celsius.

    - Now to the scary part. The hotel was a mental institution in the early and mid 1900-hundreds. We had no idea about this when we booked, but we felt the ghosts both inside and outside.

    - If you remember the Overlook Hotel in the movie "The Shining" starring Jack Nicholson you get the general idea. The long corridors where the child is pedaling his kiddycar shouting REDRUM (read backwards). Scary wall decoration with blood running, black-burned children and cages.

    - Outside is beautiful - but wait, there is a feeling of being watched and stalked by evil spirits. Like in Tolkien's "Lord of the Ring" when the hobbits leave the Shire.

    - I had no idea of the hotel's history until we checked in, see photos. If you are interested in haunted places - you have come to the right place. Don't bring your children.

We arrived and met a very welcoming and warm and professional receptionist, we got to our room that was nice, bright and had all it needed. The spa was nice. The dinner and service during dinner was excellent. Breakfast was excellent. All in all we had a pleasant stay where we felt like we were welcome and we had the peace we needed. We will definitely come back again.
