Great food, quick and friendly service. The dessert is noisy but looks amazing.
Great food from a very creative chef served by amazing servers. Every time I come here, I stay for at least a couple of hours enjoying the food and ambience. Reservations recommended when it's too cold to sit outside.
One of the better restaurants of Munich, interesting seasonal beer, not to cheap but fairly prices because their food is pretty delicious and in my opinion of very good quality. Wonderful staff and helpful and kind. A place to go when you are tired of the main touristic restaurants and their mediocre food.
We stuffed ourselves with the farmer's platter. Very good food and beer. The outdoor seating was great. My wife thought her beef dish was OK or this would have been a 5 star rating. We found the service friendly and fine.
When they say they close, they close exactly on time, no wiggle room. They basically throw you out and not in the most friendly way. Other times, the staff tried to be friendly, but can't remember who ordered what and always has to ask; and in a large group that's done by very annoying shouting.
Otherwise the beer was cold and tasty, the cake was good, too. In any case, the surrounding stuff (maybe it's authentic Bavarian) is distracting and annoying and makes for a not so fun experience.
Additionally, on the men's toilets there are no pissoirs, instead you pee against a glass wall, it's pretty disgusting, there basically is pee everywhere. Shortly before closing, the stalls weren't maintained well either.
The ambience was great but the food was really awful. I've stayed in Munich for last 2 months and tried many German restaurants. The roasted pork was thick and hard and smelly. Never experienced this before. The meatball tasted bland and horrible. Pork knuckle was very salty. Duck was good. Maybe I was unlucky as this is very different from most reviews but really, I've done many Bavarian meals and this is my very first disappointment.
Very good German food, not only good to have lunch BUT to have breakfast. A very good choice. Service very good. Good portions and prices are ok. Lovely location.
Best "Wirtshaus"/traditional Bavarian restaurant in Munich! Every single dish is delicious but try their dumplings and the dessert platter which comes with music and fireworks.
I was there on a monday night at 7:30 and the place was packed. The service was friendly and professional and quick. My food arrived in no time. I had the house special, duck, so I assume they had a lot of the ingredients prepared ahead of time. It was very good. If you don't like loud places: this might not be your place to be.
One of the best Bavarian restaurants in Munich without a doubt. The place is perfect for people visiting Munich who want to experience both great food and a friendly atmosphere. Staff is extremely professional, the cuisine is always on par. During summer, if weather allows, lunch outside is very enjoyable. All year round, dinner inside, sharing the Bauernschmaus is the best thing to do. Be prepared to eat a lot. Not recommended for vegetarians.
