I went on Monday as it is 2-4-1 drinks and thought the prices were reasonable. The crowd ranged from 24-45 year olds and was reasonably busy but I think due to an event the weekend before at Lab.Oritory.
I found the staff intially a bit standoffish (cold) but after a few hours were very friendly and polite.
The drsrkroom is very dark so I suggest you look at what the guys you fancy were wearing before you enter so you can spot them

This happened on Monday night, August 28, around 11:30 pm. The doorman told us we couldn't come in, saying that it is a private bar. I asked him again what he meant by "private" so he explained to me that it is a "private men's bar" not for all men. He kept saying its private men's club, so I said, do you mean gay? and I said that I am gay, so he said, "you can come in but your friend can't come in". Then I said with a"laughing" tone (politely), "he is my partner/boyfriend". At this point he insisted not letting him in, while other people were going in. I asked him for a reason, then he said something which I didn't understand, and said "what?". I thought he said, you can't come in, period. I thought he said "period," but my bf said he said "Piss off". It's a good thing i didn't hear the word "piss off". So apparently he said "piss off" about 3 times. Anyway, we walked away because my by this time, my bf was just mad. We really didn't know what the reason is. Was is the dress code? Do we look straight? and not until i said I was gay, then he said i could come in? but then when i said my "friend" is gay and is my bf, he still refused, is it because he was embarrassed that I "corrected" him? WOW, walking back to our hotel, I was flabergasted . Haven't us, gay people suffer enough prejudice and discrimination only to feel outcast by the same group of our own people? The place where we feel comfortable among other gay people? By the way, I am Asian and my bf is as white as one can be. In fact he is German by descent. Whoever this guy is, I hope he learn a few lessons in compassion and good reasoning. I went to the website, there is nothing but just a one page. NO contact, no address no links anywhere. For those who think this is a bar worth going to, I'm glad you didn't experience this horrendous episode but think twice before you go again as you may be next. I don't know. If I were in Berlin longer, I would totally go back and sit down with that person and dig his brain. As a side note, I am not bitter or upset about this. I just want to share my experience with others.

ATENTION- IPHONE STOLEN ON WADROBE- arrived at this place, with my iPhone in my jacket. Gave to wadrobe.
I even asked if could leave the phone inside.
When I was going home, where is my iPhone?
My iPhone disappear, no one could give me answer. They said that I went to darkroom with my phone . However, when I was leaving the darkroom was not even open.

I really enjoyed the place, my favourite so far. Very nice music. The French bartender is very careful while making drinks and so friendly. Very helpful guy if you are visiting for first time, he suggested nice places depending on what you looking for. The crowd was friendly. On Mondays there is a offer buy one get one free on drinks.

It's totally ok, not the best bar in berlin but the beste GAY bar. Drinks are a little bit overprized but still affordable (3.50€) for a becks. please be aware of pickpockets and hustlers as everywhere in the gay scene of Berlin.

Was visiting Berlin for a few days and as Toms Bar was near our hotel we decided to try it out. However the door man was extremely rude and refused to let us in without giving us an explanation. He more or less slammed the door in our face.

Not sure why so many have rated this place poorly. I had a great time with my partner and our newfound Berlin friends. Warning: coming out of the dark bar at 8am on a sunny Sunday morning is a little shocking after an all nighter of partying.

DISKRIMINIERUNG = BOYCOTT Last weekend we stayed in Toms Hotel in Berlin, and we enjoyed are stay there and enjoyed Berlin, We recieved a Hotel pass giving us extras at diferent shops bars and clubs, we used this and where surprised how easy it worked.
Only to be refused entry twice in TOMS bar, My boy friend was allowed in but i was refused entry twice By a young guy saying it was a private party, I was flabergasted and upset that this kind of RACIST schould be alloud to work in a GAY bar.
Talking to other gay people in Berlin They said it happens often there thats why we do not go there.
Wel i went there the next day with my Boy friend i got in, wel it was dirty, the bar men not interested in selling anything so we spent nothing there, and left after a half hour waiting. is that a private party????
No TOMS bar or Toms hotel for us again. Thanks go to Mutschmanns club, Lab,oratory club and BoilerSauna for making our stay welcomed, we welcome Toms barmen to go visit these bars and learn to to make gays feel welcome and earn money for your club.response / report this review -

We liked this bar. In fact, this was our favorite place to hang out. Don't miss it when you visit Berlin. I would recommend checking out a couple other bars down the street or next door first, since the party here starts later. If you're looking for some playmates, you'll find them here.

Monday night special 2.4.1 :
Crowded around midnight.
Expensive drinks but no entry fee.
Friendly staff.
Cloakroom.
Condoms available at the bar.
Mix young and older men.
Some will f*ck no questions asked like and Lab. and some will be into you a minute and not the next (no, it's not drugs, they're just more particular about details like French kissing absolutely, etc or can't get hard)
Of course some were good, young and they delivered haha
It's just some of those old men that have a fetish's for one thing in particular it seems and if they cannot get it from you they'll turn you away.
